Maggie 劉美儒 (onceuponatimeireadabook) | 3 comments I'm really horrible at introducing myself - or talking to people. But I'm Maggie, I'm panromantic and somewhere on the asexual spectrum, but I usually just say I'm pan to avoid dealing with the anti-ace lot. I have Asperger's and a really bad bit of anxiety. I've been worshipping books my entire life, I even used to skip class to hang out in the library or read under staircases. I'm slowly working my way to becoming an ALA-certified librarian and correspondent book editor. I knit hats for NICUs and cancer treatment centres and hats and mittens for the homeless while I read. My dogs are my world and I never go anywhere without one of them. I don't know what else to say except cooper boom.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Welcome, Maggie - it doesn't seem like such a terrible introduction to me!
What types of dogs do you have?

Maggie 劉美儒 (onceuponatimeireadabook) | 3 comments Thanks y'all. It took me a while to write it. I have 4 Australian Shepherd/Red Fox Labs. They're big and fluffy and make perfect reading pillows. 😁

Lara Lillibridge | 29 comments Aussies are one of my favorites, but now I have to google red fox labs. I couldn't resist your "this is a bad intro" post. I hate intros as well, and I found your endearing. I do agree that there is a lot of anti-ace sentiment. (I wrote a blog about it once—about how I tell my kids they aren't on Noah's ark and don't have to go two-by-two through out the world.) I want to learn to knit, but I have problems with diagrams and youtube instructions and also have poor fine motor skills. Doesn't it sound like knitting would be perfect for me? :)

I have terrible anxiety as well, and posting on group things can be terrifying for me. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

I'm actually a lefty so when my mum tried to teach me to knit when I was little it did not work - at all. But I picked it up when I was 16 from written instructions (with no diagrams or videos because those are definite nopes for me as well). If you have a Michaels nearby they have classes as well.
My oldest dog is actually my service dog in training, we're finally both ready to tackle stores this coming year. I'm spending 2018 working on me, starting with doing the shopping without freaking out and actually being social on social media. 😅
