Fantasy about a woman who can hide in the shadows... and an evil greedy salamander

I can't recall the title... its about two sets of siblings the heroine can hide in the shadows or go unseen... I think her bother can do this as well. But the fantasy world they live in makes them into monsters, outcasts, things to revile. Something happened to them and their family when they were younger now its just them two trying to survive. The sister meets a man and he knows what she is and hates her but thinks she maybe able to help his family out. His family is under a curse where a monster comes and rapes one of their family members and the day its supposed to happen draws close.. So he wants her to steal something from the monsters lair for him in hopes it will save his family. All the while his little sister and the heroine's brother fall in love. They end up being too late and instead of the sister being raped the heroine's brother takes the rape and torture so that the sister doesn't have too... Its a dark story but I'm really trying to remember what its title is??? Does anyone have a clue??
