yael So, like can you talk more about the brand stuff?

The markings are white tattoos, they’re not as prominent as the black ink and they also look somewhat like scars.

Each clan has their own marking, the exceptions within the clan are the royalty of the Serpiente and the Avians.

Markings are usually given at birth or as children, though some do receive them when they’re teenagers. The magic in the ink given from the gods [ more like a universal religious belief really ] allow it to never fade ( therefore, the white ink ) and to grow with the child’s skin and body. It also acts as a seal, a permanent marking that will keep the shape shifter from going into tantrums and shifting into an animal forever.

yael What are the problems?

As said several times this roleplay is set in the medieval era. This is also a paranormal roleplay as well - involving shifters. Shifters are descendents [or at least believed to be] of deities. Maybe they were once human who knows? The science behind it is a mystery. But they desire more than anything to become human once again [or at least the majority]. There is the fight to find the cure to cease their shifting. There is also the feud between the clans - both with its citizens and royalty. There are also minor issues encompassed in the plot such as the propaganda news blinding shifters from rationality and so on. Maybe your character has a secret relationship with its most rivaled clan? Possibilities are practically endless

Is the wolf shape-shifter a werewolf?
Answer

No it is not. They are shape shifters. Werewolves, vampires and other mystical creatures don't exist in this world. Humans on the other hand do exist but they have been exiled from this land and they can not return. The difference between a werewolf and a wolf shapeshifter is; a Werewolves, also called "Children of the Moon", are creatures that only transform during full moons. However, they aren't killed by silver bullets. They also don't travel in packs, but the shape-shifters do.

Shapeshifters would be the Quileutes. Their eldest shapeshifting ancestor simply chose the wolf form. That is why every descendent after that has become a wolf. See, if the elder had chosen, say, a hawk, then the rest would most likely have become hawks.
