This will be my 2018 reading the world map. I don't expect to read the whole world in a year, but I've decided that I am going to start the challenge as of now, and not use books I've read in the past.

I have several 500+ page books (or is it 800+ pages?) that have been on my TBR for a while:
The Stand
Life and Fate
Resurrection
and
The Wise Man's Fear
and
something by Charles Dickens.

I'd like to get The Stand and one of the Russian books off my list year.

The following is a break down of my general reading goal. I plan to read more books than the numbers below, but if I restrict myself too much, I will never meet the goal.

I've been wanting to "read the world" for ages, so perhaps it is time to keep track of where I've been reading.

My guess is, I update the map above as I go? Do I use books I've already finished, or do I fill in books starting now?

And I have a spreadsheet I've been working on: One book per year 1850 - 1969 (oh dear). This is for sure a multi-year challenge. It started out by me filling out as many as I could of FEMALE authors, and then when I got tired and frustrated with trying to fill in the blank spots I went to my TBR list, and now I have some blanks that I'll fill in eventually.

I also have a 2018 bingo challenge here, and a 1930s decade of women challenge.

Someday (maybe not this year) I think it would be fun to focus some time just on mysteries. A readathon? A month-long blitz of mysteries? How many Agatha Christie mysteries can I read in a month? Just thinking on the page.
