Can we get the chapters for this week. I just started it and was wondering ? Also if you haven’t started it you get hooked in the first ten pages haha

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) yes I was hooked right away as well.

It throws the woman in white into the book so early on. But I am beginning to get some deja vu reading this like I may have read it before or they made a movie. I don’t know.

I find myself continually rereading passages to get a better understanding or grasp of what he was saying or even just to read a beautifully written passage again. Also I am having a hilarious time reading the annotations that someone made in the book already. Hahha they are hilarious.

I have just finished Mr. Hartwrights first part and I have to say his descriptions of people almost bring them to life in your head. It’s absolutely wonderful. Also I seemed to have an annotated copy by someone and reading there opinions on the book is absolutely hilarious 😆😆😆 lol.

He describes Miss Fairlie so well and wonderful I can imagine her in my head. He has a beautifully descriptive writing style.

Also this story in itself is intrigueing to me because I long to know what Sir Percival Glyde has done or if the woman in white is really crazy or if they marry or what has happened to make this woman act the way she does. It’s very weird.

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) I loved the first section. It was very mysterious. I'm a sucker for a good graveyard scene. I wondering the same thing Cheyenne. is she really crazy or was she wrongfully institutionalized. I would believe the latter, but she sure acts strangely.

Erin Nyren (erinnyren) I really like this. I love flowery, long language like Collins and other authors of his time use. At first I wondered if maybe Anne Catherick was actually Laura Fairlie and vice versa-- that they had switched places in their youth or something, and so Hartwright would be able to marry the Laura he knew while Anne, being the real Laura, married Percival Glyde. But that doesn't seem to be the direction the book's going in...fun to be kept guessing!

Mindy'sBookJourney (mindysbookjourney) I still have my bad feeling after finishing the first epoch. I am just hoping Walter and Marian will keep anything bad from happening.
