ABANDONED. Group of kids living in different places: treehouse, raft

Trying to find this for a friend. It was read to him by a teacher in school when he was 10 or 11 (1976-ish). It's about a group of kids living in different places. He remembers the raft and treehouse specifically but there were other places. It was a fun adventure story. Any help is appreciated!

Was it a mix of boys and girls, or just one gender? Any idea how many kids? Did all of the kids live in the same place, or did each kid lived in a different place? Was this a single book or a series, where each book featured them living somewhere else? Does he remember anything at all about the plot of the book -- were they having adventures, growing up, was there magic involved, anything at all?

Picture book or chapter book? We Were Tired of Living in a House is a delightful picture book of a group of four siblings living in different places - treehouse, raft on a pond, cave, and seashore.

I cannot think of any single books, but a few series come to mind
Perhaps the boxcar children? I don't know how long they have been published for though.
Or the adventure series by Enid blyton (or anything by her)
