Neogenesis came out as eARC in September. It will be released as hardback, ebook, and Audible on January 2, 2018.

My review, based on the eARC.

Satisfying conclusion to the current Liaden Universe story arc. The various separate story threads combined nicely with only Shan yos'Galen and his crew missing. The story will clearly continue of course. After the ending, a related story previously available as a chapbook is included, which takes place earlier in the chronology.

I caught several amusing literary references, to stories by other SF authors and even to Monty Python.

You do not need to have read any of the other Liaden Universe stories before this one, although it would likely make it easier to keep the many characters straight. Highly recommended.

Neogenesis is now available in hardback, ebook, and Audible editions.

Are you reading it? Feel free to discuss here.

Audrey | 541 comments My copy just arrived in the mail. I will start reading soon.

Audrey | 541 comments I am reading Neogenesis right now. I am getting confused because it pulls in threads from several earlier books and short stories. Which I know I read, but going back up to several years ago, so I don't remember as well as I think I need to get all of what is going on.

If it’s the Tinsori Light short story, that is given in full at the end of Neogenesis.

If there’s some other confusion, feel free to ask here!

I agree that Neogenesis was an unusual Liaden book, in that you really need to have read a number of other books in the series fairly recently in order to understand what's going on. That hasn't been typical for them, although maybe I didn't notice it as much since I read the entire series all at once last year.
