Thank You :). I will be able to start today. So hopefully I can get involved in the discussion.
Mary Pat, thanks for the heads-up on the thread stuff. That sounds like a super fun trip! Enjoy the sea turtles! :D
Would anyone like to do a buddy read of A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallero? I would like to read it in September :)
Hey mary pat, could you please add a thread for never fade by alexandra bracken for september? Thanks, and have a great trip 😊
Just a friendly reminder that September Buddy Reads will be posted early as I will be traveling without a laptop at the end of the month!Threads will be posted tomorrow, August 19th. (I may not finish up until Monday, August 20th.) No new September Buddy Reads threads will be created until I return in early September.
Please review the current list of September Buddy Reads here. These are the reads that I already plan to create. Any buddy reads request posted by August 19th will have a thread created before I leave. (Remember, at least two people need to be interested for a thread to be created.)
You can continue to request Buddy Reads in this thread while I am gone. Just understand that any September threads will not be created until I return early in the month.
Thanks, all!
The second and third place books for the September 2018 group read were A Short History of Nearly Everything and Middlemarch respectively. Is anyone interested in reading either or both of these books as a Buddy Read? As long as two or more people are interested, I will create a thread.

Done!
Hello is someone in the mood for The Chalk Man or The Woman in the Window for October? I want to read a thriller for that month...
Just an FYI - the group doing the Iliad buddy read have decided to extend that into September, and then possibly tackle the Odyssey in October. :)

I am thinking about reading
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Sounds good Hannah! Anyone else want in? It's a short book and looks like a quick read.
Should be a quality read too. The list of awards the book won or was nominated for is astonishingly long:
Man Booker Prize Nominee for Longlist (2003), James Tait Black Memorial Prize Nominee for Fiction (2003), Whitbread Award for Novel and Book of the Year (2003), Guardian Children's Fiction Prize (2003), McKitterick Prize (2004)
Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction (2003), Exclusive Books Boeke Prize (2004), ALA Alex Award (2004), Zilveren Zoen (2004), Lincoln Award Nominee (2006), Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book Overall (2004), North East Teenage Book Award Nominee (2004), Dolly Gray Children's Literature Award (2004)

I'd like to join as well. I may not have the time, but I'll try my best.
I’ll try to join too. I started it back in the beginning of the year but was bored. Now that I have “help”, it’ll be different.
Hey guys, i want to challenge myself to read all the books i purchased in 2018 before the end of the year and scheduling buddy reads will make it A TON easier for me to achieve this! Here are the ones i haven't yet scheduled a buddy read for:
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee
Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
and The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
I hope some of you are interested in "forcing" me to achieve my goal :P
I am not sure if we talked about this before, but would the group that read the Throne of Glass series this year be up to reading The Assassin's Blade in October and the final book, Kingdom of Ash in November?
Ilona wrote: "I am not sure if we talked about this before, but would the group that read the Throne of Glass series this year be up to reading The Assassin's Blade in October and the final book,..."I'm definitely in for Kingdom of Ash. If everyone wants to do Assassin's Blade next month I'll try to squeeze it in too.
Is there anyone who would be interested in doing a buddy read for I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer before the year is over??
I swear someone said they'd read The Girl in the Ice with me but I don't see it on the buddy list. Does anyone want to read it with me?
Allie wrote: "Joan wrote: "Allie - can you read it in October?"Err, November?"
Sheila wrote: "I’ll join you for The Girl in the Ice if I can get it from my library in time"
November works for me. Does that work for you Sheila?
I have The Girl in the Ice on my list for Joan, Susy and Allie in December! I must have missed putting it on the list! My apologies! Should I move it to November based on the comments here? Or do you want to keep it in December?
Sheila, I have added you to the list.
The Assassin's Blade and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night have been added to my list for October. Kingdom of Ash has been added for November. I will wait to hear from folks about The Girl in the Ice.October threads will be posted and the list updated by the end of the day today!
The later the better for me so if December is still good for everybody I’d prefer to keep it in December...
The second and third place books for the October 2018 group read were Neverwhere and Alice in Wonderland - Through the Looking Glass respectively. Neverwhere is already an October Buddy Read. Is anyone interested in reading Alice in Wonderland as a buddy read? As long as two or more people are interested, I will create a thread.
