2018 Buddy Reads - Introduction & Sign Up

If you want to wait until June, we have a buddy read scheduled for this then. :D

I have Leah on the Offbeat planned for July as mentioned before so would love to join.
Hadn't noticed it in between the other books you mentioned, sorry Kayla.

I think somewhere Mary Pat asked me if I still wanted to do the Red Queen series. I do but definitely can't fit it in. I could see where I am in the fall with my challenge and get back to you on that.

Yes, I plan on reading it in May as well.

I would love to join both buddy reads. However, that will be the...fourth...time ive read [book:Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda just this year. My copy of Leah on the Offbeat will be in the mail today and I don't know how well I'll be able to hold off lol

Probably mid May. Have to read a book for a training in May first + still finishing His Dark Materials.
Looks like I'm going to have to buy the book; my library doesn't have it in Amsterdam and in other cities it's not available at the moment. Not sure yet if I'll buy the paperback edition or ebook.....

And lastly, I would be interested in Circe too but like someone else said, don’t know if I’ll be able to get it in time for May :/

I am up for June then :D

Kristin, I might join you for Small Spaces. I don't generally enjoy middle grade unless I'm reading the book to my son, and this one sounds a little too scary for him. But I did like Bear and the Nightingale so much I'm willing to give this one a try.

I hope to read it this month but if I don't get it before the end of the month... Thinking about buying it but not sure about that yet...

Circe BR is May (does everyone think they can get a copy by the 10th? We could start it the 11th?)
July is Knife of Never Letting Go.
Septembee is Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
If i forgot any books let me know :)

I can buddy read this in June :)

No clue it was part of a series but I would love to do it!

so it's you, allie and me for The Gentleman's Guide To Vice and Virtue in June?
so it's you, allie and me for The Gentleman's Guide To Vice and Virtue in June?

Yup!

I’m good with June or later! May is my busiest month at work so moving it later is good with me!!!!

I have moved this book to June.

I have moved Kingdom of Ash to November.

Kayla, I have added you to the list of participants for Eleanor Oliphant in September!

Can I join?"
I have added you to the list of participants. Thread will be posted soon!

Done!

A date was never set to start the Red Queen series so I think I will remove it from the list for now. There were only two participants and everyone seems to have full plates for now! :)

Hi, Kayla! I will be posting the May buddy read threads shortly and will make sure Circe is there. The others will be part of the updated list we keep in the buddy reads folder. I will post a link shortly after I have updated it.
On another note, buddy reads tend to be relaxed and as a general rule we don't set exact start days. Everyone reads the book and comments at their own pace. Since participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, we do ask that everyone mark spoilers!

One question - Is Circe going to be in May or June?

I think May and then maybe prolong it to June too for those of us who don't get the book in time to finish it in may?
Mary Pat wrote: "EIrelyn, Susy, Ilona, Joan, Shilpa - I have Simon Versus the Homo Sapiens Agenda scheduled for June followed by the second book in the Creekwood series - Leah on the Offbeat - in July."
Thank you Mary Pat.

I definitely have it on my tbr pile for May and think I'll start it immediately after finishing my current read! So I'd say yes, it's still happening if at least you want to join me?

Great! I‘m looking forward to it :)

Thank you!

July would be fine with me. Do we know when the next book will be published?

I'd like to participate in May's buddy read of Circe when that thread goes up.

I’ve never initiated a buddy read before I could definitely have been the one to second it! 😄
Savannah wrote: "Is there going to be a thread for the Miss Peregrines buddy read? I saw in the announcement for May that it wasn't listed."
I think Mary Pat just didn't get to it yet and will list it as she mentioned a few posts before :)

July is good for The Knife of Never Letting Go and I wouldn't mind reading the whole series.
