An idea for the next list is when someone takes an item to read, they also suggest a new item to be added to the list. Then the game will continue.

On the other hand it’s nice to have an actual end goal so there’s a sense of accomplishment when it’s completed.

Good point Connie ... I'm weighing both ideas.

Having folks suggest replacements when they "claim" an item off the list gives more options, though. By the time I saw list #2, there wasn't anything left on that list that I could claim. Adding new items as group members read their books might give others a chance to jump in without having to wait until the current list is completed.

It also means that Jan doesn't have to come up with ideas for a new list each time one is finished. I'm all for making things easier for the mod/s of a group :)

I was liking the idea of having help with items, Barb! And adding new items does keep the challenge fresh.

That was my thought too... it would get rid of the waiting times, and it would reduce the pressure on the ones working on the last few items

Good points, Barb and Rosa. It would definitely open up more options at any one time rather than waiting for that last item on the list to be found and the book finished.

One thing I do notice about interactive challenges is not everyone always checks in or finishes the tasks they claim. I'm glad that is has not happened here but maybe something to consider. With that I better go read the book for the task I claimed : )!
