So? You probably think this 'word' is the Bible. It isn't. It's the Holy Spirit.

Chris Hunnicutt | 13 comments “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

I don't like talking to a book. I think we are done.

Rod Horncastle Bhahahaa! So much much fun.

So Robby, what happens to me eternally (or even daily?) if I don't bow to your gnostic comedy? I should be worried why exactly?

You do know that much gnostic literature has been hiding in the dirt for about 1800 years. Because: nobody CARED. And this affected the universe HOW? Your gods seem to have left the building (with Elvis perhaps?).

message 55: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Good stuff Chris - I'm pretty sure everything in Daniel is way over Robby's head.

Sounds like he's desperate to join the Baha'i faith. Pretty sure they'll let him in too!

Robby: the gnostics trying to stake a claim on biblical literature is typical of Satan - always late to the game and trying to keep up. You can use the same methods on a "Winnie the Pooh" book.
Why dont you go and pick on Muslims or Mormons? I'd pay money to watch that

message 56: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Robby said, "id consider it an honor to be part."

Part of what? What's the pay off? Is your life better than mine? More joy, more humor, sexier wife, faster car? Do you eat at better restaurants? What church and community do you thrive in? Do you give more to charities? Better health? Better backyard Neighbours?

Is Israel in your daily news for the same Cosmic reasons? So far: it appears your beliefs are Meaningless Mr. Gnostic.

My Christian faith affects every moment of every day. Even chatting with you is ordained and blesses me.

So sad. I could teach you about things you have never dreamed of. The fact that they were IN the ground all this time is why we can RELY on them. They have not been corrupted over and over like the Gospels have. I have experienced wonderful things you will never know. Not in this life. I got to gaze in wonder into the eyes of a real Master for hours at a time. I could not care what this world has to offer after that. I truly wish everyone could know what it is like, but so few are given to accept that Masters are here all the time. I know you think I am deceived, I know I'm not because I WAS a Christian as you apparently are now. My community is called the Radha Soami Satsang Beas, and you can look into it online as you like or not. I wrote two books showing the relationship of the teachings, such as they are, in the Bible to Sant Mat. Sant Mat (Teachings of the Saints) is as old as the book of Genesis, at least. Seth was a Master, or whoever is represented by the character, Seth. "Calling on the Lord" in 4:26 is what disciples all do, in meditation, and have for countless centuries. But you have to find a REAL one, not a character in a book, like Jesus is. There was no Jesus. He does not in exist in history, in spite of what Christians think, or even Bart Ehrman. I have his book Did Jesus Exist? right now, from the library. One can see there how even agnostics are captivated by the fictional story in the Gospels. James is the real Master of the time, not 'Jesus.' He turns into "Judas" in the Gospels because the Church needed to HIDE him. Can't help you, man. Enjoy your walk. To where, not sure. But enjoy!

Does your faith "ordain" you to laugh at others for their beliefs? That is a sour note. Not sure why people have to be so hurtful. I came here because i'm excited to share what I have learned. If you don't like it you are certainly free it ignore it.

Most people assume being saved is saved from death. Hate to disappoint if so, but you will die. We all do. But we can be saved from REbirth. That is being saved. 'Jesus' mentions karma and reincarnation in several places as does the Tanak: The Tower of Siloam incident ("lest a worse thing come unto thee" is rebirth) and saying that John the B IS Elijah in Matt. 17:12.

"Pick on"? Is that what you think I am doing? I think you will see that I prove that the gnostics' story came BEFORE the canon. The "Betrayal of Christ" is an inverted canonical version of the mastership installation of James the Just, at just the time in the narrative (Mark 14, and Acts 1, as Dr. Eisenman says) that a successor to Jesus is to be expected. That is what "Misreading Judas" is about. But you seem to be more of an expert. SO, I will let you alone.

message 60: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Why do you blindly trust a Dr. Eisenman? Are you willing to put your soul in his academic hands?

message 61: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle I doubt you could teach me anything even slightly amusing (hint: this is your chance.)

Yes, I've read up on gnostic comedies. Not much to see. No reason to waste great deals of time on it.

message 62: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Gazing for hours into a guys eyes sounds kind of GAY. Not in my top 1000 things to do. Kind of makes sense of your gnostic passion though.

Says more about your homophobia than my spirituality.

Rod Horncastle Robby you didn't come here to share - but to mock and attack Christianity. Which is fine, but don't expect me to applaud you or make nice. Or treat you as an equal. You are on a dark road...

message 65: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Yes, I am homophobic if it means I don't want you gazing into my eyes for hours longing for rebirth. And I'm the weird one????

I have no hate for you Robby. This is just good fun. We can still be friends. I'm won't burn you like I would a Witch.

I'm not mocking anything. The Gospels mock, not me. Read something real, not the fake news like the Trumpers. Jesus is fake news. I hear that "dark road" stuff from my cousin. She is confused too, by her church friends.

I've not only read everything his expert mind has written, I have met him personally. He is the smartest man I ever met. One day he will get the recognition he so much deserves.

Rod Horncastle Well I'm convinced: you're a Nutter!

This is still fun. I love chatting with guys like you. It's more silly than watching Family Guy.

(In case you didn't notice: the game is to keep you talking... you've shown us all we need to see.) just being honest.

We can take on a specific topic if you like. Maybe move off this thread.

Rod Horncastle Is there some other Guru's eyes you need to gaze into for hours???? I can see how your time is precious.

Robert Rod wrote: "Is there some other Guru's eyes you need to gaze into for hours???? I can see how your time is precious."

It's called "Dhyan" and it is performed mentally for an hour or so daily. This is the first of a two part meditation. The first is "simran" - and is for an hour or more, along with mentally recalling the Master's face, the second part is "Bhajan" and is "calling on the Name of the Lord" ('Name' is Holy Spirit not Jesus! In Punjabi it is 'Nam') in all, 2 and a half hours - the 10% 'tithe' of Abraham and Jacob. You can look it up. Neither tithe in these stories is for goods, necessarily.

This is NOT something new. As you can see Seth was teaching Yoga in Genesis 4:26. (It is now known by the Sant Mat designation of 'Surat Shabd Yoga' - Sound-hear-union. The "hearing" is "calling" - just from the disciples' perspective. It has not changed in AT LEAST 3,000 years. We have a continuous history of at least 700 years to Namdev, Kabir, and also Nanak taught it (Nanak is the first of the 10 Sikh Gurus, but they calcified the teachings just like Christians did with a written dogma). These are FACTS, You can look into them if you like, and I suggest Scienceof the soul.org, as Christian sources are not informed sources.

One thing Christians miss is how at odds Paul and James were over "works." Meditation is "works" and as you see above is considerable. James, even in the pseudepigraphical book James, makes clear works are necessary, contrary to Paul. Big mistake, Paul. This is a huge subject, but be assured, not those who only say "Lord, Lord" will progress. Those who "DO THE WILL" (Matt. 7:15) are real disciples. That means works -- and foremost is meditation. All Masters, including James (there was no 'Jesus') have taught this.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments 8-9 Dec were really busy days.

It is obvious that Paul is your favorite false prophet Chris, you seldom mention any other. In John 5:43 it couldn't be written any plainer that a false prophet would come after I leave that people will believe. The preachers say that is the false prophet or anti-christ in Revelation 20:10. The problem with that is the false prophet in that verse is already cast into the lake of fire. Paul has already died, can mankind get a false prophet better then Paul, that is all you hear in 99.999% of all the churches. He is why the Moslem call us the, "Great Satan" in their book, Paul gave a watered down version of the Gospel. Not only is it watered down but there is no comparison to the true Gospel that Jesus gave mankind. Man can't understand the parables or allegorical teaching that is why all we hear is Paul.

But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part. For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments 77: Even St John, Matthew, and Mark has verses that are un-explainable, How could somebody other then a true child of God cast out devils with out being born again and have received the Holy Ghost. If that could be done why did Jesus have to die. There are many preachers today that people believe they can do something but there has never been a documented case of a person being healed. They usually pray for arthritis, but why don't they pray for a guy with a short leg. As they say there is money in the name of Jesus. Ezekiel 36:26-27 happened to me physically but the preachers say you have to grow into it, what ever that means Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you. 27 And I will put my Spirit (Holy Ghost) within you. It explaines the born again and receiving the Spirit, and it went in my mouth as it did Jesus in St Matthew 3:16 it was the, "like a dove" that happened 30 days after being born again. The preachers say you receive it when you want it, like when you raise your hand.
