What are you reading in December 2017?
Enjoy, Femmy! I´ll try to join as well. I do have some more books that I want to buy this month (do not have a kindle) so this one is actually 6th one but I´m possitive ;)
I'm currently on the The Blinding Knife. Then after I read Senlin Ascends I'm going to read The King of Elfland's Daughter and the War for the Oaks to finish the month.
I'm still reading Oathbringer. I'll start Senlin Ascends once I finish. I don't know if I'll read another book before the year ends, I'll be traveling a lot this month (YAY!)
I'm still working my way through The Way of Kings. I'm loving it, but with Thanksgiving and working retail during the worst human invented 'holiday' (Black Friday) and just the general chaos that is the holidays, I haven't been reading as fast as I usually do. I'll probably be hanging out in Roshar for the rest of the year :D.

God Bless everyone working retail during the holidays.
God Bless everyone working retail during the holidays.
Good luck Alice!
I only read five books last month and three were audio! Going that I have more time this month.
I did start Senlin, it's different.

I'm rereading Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. Not sure yet what I'll pick up after, perhaps Storm Front by Jim Butcher. Hope everyone has a nice month :)
Finished A Gathering of Shadows and I've enjoyed this and the first so im moving on to the third A Conjuring of Light. I also plan to get to the group read before the end of December
Yesterday I finished The Eternal Champion and made substantial progress on Phoenix in Obsidian, which seems really short based on how long it's taking me to read it. Not that I'm complaining because it's also quite good.

I never got to read all of them in any kind of order way back when, but I think I wound up reading most. I really enjoyed them, too. I don't think I read The Eternal Champion, though. Does it have the other characters in it at all?

If you read any of the crossover stories (the ones where he brought Elric & Corum &c.) together, you also met the Eternal Champion -- he goes by the name Erekosë. The other incarnations don't actually appear in the first couple of books, at least, but they do get name-checked because he sometimes remembers previous incarnations in dreams.
Yes, I was familiar with Erekose & the cross-overs which is why I asked. Good stuff. I keep thinking I should collect them all & read them, just never have. Too many other books.
I have just read Dawn of Wonder and am now reading Red Sister. It's quite strange to read them back to back as they are very similar themes.

I feel the same way after reading Brandon Sanderson and then Reading The Blinding Knife. Very similar.

And finished Phoenix in Obsidian (it was short) and started the final John Daker book, The Dragon in the Sword: Book 3 of Erekosë Trilogy.
Jim wrote: "I'm finally getting around to reading The Crimson Campaign, second in the Powder Mage series."I loved that series! I just finished the Novella Box Set and was not disappointed.
I finished the first book from the Wrinkle in Time series. I will return to the rest of the series later. For now, I'm just waiting for The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter to arrive in the mail, so I can start that.

The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter is nominated for February BOM. Just needs a second. ;)

Finished The Dragon in the Sword and now am going for more old-school sword & sorcery with Trollslayer, the first of William King's Gotrek & Felix books.
Just finished Oathbringer..now will continue with the remaining four books of The Black Company.. Finish Adultery (dissatisfied).. start on the second book of The Story of Civilization and maybe start on Murakami's After Dark too..
I didn't last until Christmas. Have just started reading The Mongrel Mage by Modessitt. Echoes of the very first Recluse book when Justen was teaching Lerris Enjoying it so far
Finally got around to reading Magician: Apprentice. Half way through, my impression..."Lord of the Rings" meets the "Dragonbone Chair".
Finished The King of Elfland's Daughter. What a beautifully written book. Gave it 5 stars but deserves 10. What else can I saw. Now on to War for the Oaks.
Tnkw01 wrote: "Finished The King of Elfland's Daughter. What a beautifully written book. Gave it 5 stars but deserves 10. What else can I saw. Now on to War for the Oaks."Those are two of my favorite books.
FinishedA Conjuring of Light byV.E. Schwab. I've really enjoyed this trilogy and this was a great conclusion. This was my first foray into Schwabs writing and I will make a point of reading some more of her work next year. Any suggestions anyone?Next, I'm going to join in with the group read as long as i can find a copy.....

I'm really enjoying War of the Oaks. I can see why they are two of your favorites.

Also, Emma Bull is one of my favorite writers, and one whom I really wish was better known and more prolific ... I'm still waiting for that sequel to Territory.

I've preferred others by her.

I'm struggling to find a copy of Selin Ascends. I've visited a few normally reliable bookshops and drawn a blank so far. I know i could get it online but ive never liked buying my books that way. Ho hum.... I'll keep my eyes open. For now I'm going to dive into A Fortress of Grey Ice by J.V. Jones.
Have just finished Hand and Talon which I really enjoyed. It has a very similar story line to Red Sister but a very different feel. Now off to read the next two V E Schwab books which Jason has reminded me of.

Finished Skavenslayer and now it's time to get caught up with the Expanse, so I just started Babylon's Ashes. Which, in light of the events at the end of the previous book, I expect to be ... cheery.
Had a lovely holiday visit up at my parents' place, during which I finished Babylon's Ashes, read Strange Dogs and then tore through Persepolis Rising in pretty much a single day, and have now started Dorothy Dunnett's King Hereafter, a historical novel based on Macbeth.

Stick with it, it's an exceptional read.
Janny wrote: "King Hereafter is a truly stunning book - the research Dunnett put into it is beyond the pale. I hadn't been aware of the historical context of the actual Macbeth --it's much more of a Viking saga than I had realized. And it has much to commend it to readers of, say, Game of Thrones or other semi-historical highly political fantasy.
(And I picked up King Hereafter because I had read a glowing review of the Lymond Chronicles on, I believe, tor.com, but I wanted to start with something a bit more manageable in scale.)
Reading Silverthorn which is now listed as the third book in the Riftwar saga. My thanks to all those who posted comments and reviews alerting readers that the original first book had been split into two books. After reading the first book in the series I was left unfulfilled and probably would not have continued without knowing that the (now) second book was originally published as part of the first story. A good series that I will finish.

I read The Game of Kings and really enjoyed it but it was definitely not the type of book you could just breeze through.

I´ve myself have read very little (there´s still this month!) but am quite satisfied with all of the things considered (job, marriage etc.) ;) Still am, and will always be missing Brenda though.
As every month this year, I´ll try to finish all of the books I´ve started and that I haven´t finished, so this month it´s no different.
