This is rather private - you're causing everyone to either leave the group or stop talking. Nobody else is here. And we're not friends (I tried several times). I don't think you have any. THEY would use private messages.
Time to reflect and show us your humble loving spirit.

So you are RE-WRITING the Word of God again? Why would I accept the word of Rod over the Word of God?
Matthew 18:15 - "Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone : if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother."
Yawn! Go look up the word Humble in the dictionary. You can still argue, and attack, and demand people read the Bible exactly like you do - just do it nicely, with an inviting smile. We aren't in a church Robert. We don't have to necessarily follow church rules here. I'm not even convinced you're my Christian brother... so rules may not apply.
But it's not too late.
The great thing about Jesus: He attracted people to himself.
Rod wrote: "Yawn! Go look up the word Humble in the dictionary...."My response: YAWN... adhere to Scripture.
Really???? Do you honestly expect people to take your doctrine seriously, when all you offer in support is YOUR OPINIONS?
Rod wrote: "The great thing about Jesus: He attracted people to himself..."The great thing about Jesus is...
* He attracted NON-COMPROMISERS to Himself.
* And He NEVER COMPROMISED to make friends.
* And He QUOTED Scripture frequently.
* etc. etc. etc.
Rod wrote: "I'm not even convinced you're my Christian brother..."My response: 1 Corinthians 4:3 - "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you , or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self."
I'm not judging and condemning- just evaluating and profiling.Do you seriously never contemplate your personal character and habits? Or how you come across to others? That's sad. What is the Holy Spirit doing in your current life? How are you being renewed or changed at all?
Rod wrote: "I'm not judging and condemning- just evaluating and profiling..."Call it what you like. Of course you will not have any Scripture to uphold your comments.
1 Corinthians 4:3 - "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you , or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self."
Rod wrote: "Do you seriously never contemplate your personal character and habits? ..."Indeed I do. I used to be wishy washy and soft on sin and false doctrine... until God sternly convicted me with regards to the desperate seriousness of the end times apostasy.
Rod wrote: "I don't just self-righteously throw scripture at folks. They need comprehension and patience..."My response: That is the difference between us. You approach people in the carnal ways of the world... I approach people with the LOVE OF CHRIST...
Matthew 4:4 - "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
If you "live by every Word from God" it is nearly impossible to tell... since you almost NEVER quote any of them.
Rod wrote: "Even if I'm arguing with Satan..."My response: Jesus QUOTED SCRIPTURE to satan and did NOT argue with Him...
Now that is CHRISTLIKE!
Robert, Rod - it does my black heart good to see my 2 principal rivals pilloried on this board for their directness in stating their opinions while I get off scot free! Who says there's not justice in this world (smiley face)! Where's Alexandra to hold my feet to the fire?
Surprisingly Robert, I always enjoy chatting with you. We disagree on a few things - but you are generally an aware human adult with a sense of humor.
Mattia wrote: "Also Satan quoted Scriptures.."So did Jesus!
So I will be like Jesus...
This is WAY BEYOND RIDICULOUS... you REFUSE to QUOTE Scripture... because satan did???? REALLY????
That is a BAD example to follow.
In the wilderness... Jesus QUOTED the Scriptures THREE times... satan TWISTED them ONE time...
Robert wrote: "Essy wrote: "There are at least two or three people within this group who have pointed this out to you, and according to Matthew 18:16, as a Christian, you need be open to the fact that you're wron..."Perhaps I made the mistake of not going to you privately first, I apologize, but what's done is done. The approach does not nullify the words I have said to you. And either way, it still remains true that over three people are calling you out and you're still not accepting correction.
You're missing the point of what I've said by nitpicking the little details and not realizing the big picture of Matthew 18:16. And according to Jesus, people who don't accept correction are treated like unbelievers. If you keep your behavior up, then this is how other Christians will end up treating you.
This issue isn't about people attacking you for standing by God's Word, it's about you exhibiting a spirit of pride and rudeness in your words toward others. I have known Christians who stood very strongly by what God has said in Scripture and yet were still kinder in their words than you are. Jesus knows you can be better in your interactions for your own and everyone else's good.
Please, be willing to listen and evaluate yourself. I mean this in all sincerity and kindness.
Essy wrote: "And either way, it still remains true that over three people are calling you out and you're still not accepting correction...."My response: I have taken everything to the Lord in prayer. Quoting and standing upon His Word does NOT seem problematic to Him.
Matthew 18 does NOT apply in this situation. Matthew 18 is between two brothers. This is a PUBLIC forum and the appropriate approach is that of Galatians chapter 2, between Paul and Peter.
Galatians 2:11, 14
11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel , I said unto Peter before them all , If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
Essy wrote: "Robert wrote: "Essy wrote: "There are at least two or three people within this group who have pointed this out to you..."My response: More than three people pointed out Jesus' errors too... were they right?
Without Scripture... all you offer is OPINIONS.

You just said I wasn't following Matthew 18:16 and now you're saying it DOESN'T apply, but that Galatians 2:11, 14 really does? Can't you understand why I would see that as being inconsistent and just trying to avoid the points I've made in order to excuse your sin?
Do you want me to explicitly cite Scriptures, regardless of what I said about this earlier?
Okay, please read Titus 2:3, James 3:17, 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, John 13:35, Galatians 5:23, Phillippians 4:5, Ephesians 4:1-2, and 2 Timothy 2:24-25.
Rod wrote: "Thanks Essy. You said that wonderfully."Thank you. If all goes well in my busy, day-to-day living, I will try to be more active in the group.
Rod wrote: "This isn't about scripture Robert, it's about YOU being rude and abusive and unloving .."1 Corinthians 4:3 - "But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you , or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self."
Rod wrote: "Now I'm going back to ignoring Robert in general. I'm happier that way..."My response: Good for you. You won't be faced with Scriptures that you CANNOT deal with, if you ignore my posts.
Essy wrote: "You just said I wasn't following Matthew 18:16 and now you're saying it DOESN'T apply, ..."My response: Please re-read this thread. I NEVER said that Matthew 18:16 applied here... YOU DID. I just responded to the inconsistencies of YOUR assertion.
Essy wrote: "Okay, please read Titus 2:3, James 3:17, 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, John 13:35, Galatians 5:23, Phillippians 4:5, Ephesians 4:1-2, and 2 Timothy 2:24-25..."My response: I read them all. Which one(s) INVALIDATE public rebuke for public heresy?
Rod,I applaud you for your effort in trying to get Christians to share in discussion on a variety of topics. Unfortunately, some just don't play well with others unless you play with their ball.
Regardless, I welcome your posts and comments. When others join in with negative input, I just ignore them.
Robert - perhaps Christians want to follow Christ. After all, He is the only hope for the Gentile. Anyone with a scintilla of scientific knowledge knows there was NOT a worldwide flood after the advent of Man. No significant mass extinctions have occurred since the dinosaur demise 60 million years ago, more than 59.5 million years before Man graced the planet. If you take the Bible literally produce some evidence of the Garden of Eden, a worldwide flood, the tower of Babel, Noah's ark, or ANY remains from the Jewish desert wanderings.
Robert wrote: "Robert - perhaps Christians want to follow Christ...."My response: Christians DO want to follow Jesus... WHY DON'T YOU?
Jesus said: Matthew 4:4 - "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Jesus EMBRACED the entire Old Testament... Noah... Jonah... Creation... etc.
You REJECT that which Jesus EMBRACED.
There are numerous scientists who do believe and have researched endlessly for the confirmation of the worldwide flood. Why do you doubt them and God's Word? Strange that a Jesus follower would even begin to do that.
When does Jesus EVER speak against the basic writings of the Old Testament? Never, far as I can tell. He doesn't correct Genesis, or Noah, or Jonah, or the parting for Moses, or any claims of the prophets.
Robert, why doesn't this peak your curiousity yet more? Or does it?
My method: what do you WANT to be true? Now chase that. And then fight it. Explore deeply all sides of the argument. Most of all. TRUST NOBODY. (Hint: this is where you're failing).Personally, I have a hugely insane list of Christians I don't trust. That applies double to atheists and humanists.
Robert wrote: "Robert - what did Jesus say about the methodology of Creation?"Jesus said quote: Mark 10:6 - "But from the BEGINNING of the CREATION
God made people male and female from the beginning of creation. If each day of creation were trillions of years... the sixth day would hardly be the BEGINNING.
Rod - well, I trust my own research into DNA. I have found Watson & Crick's in depth explanation of the Double Helix true. From that insight, genetics research is now at the forefront of scientific exploration. At the very tip, of course mistakes are made as that is the nature of any process in rapid change. That doesn't forfeit the basics. So, trust no one is shortsided and you don't believe that as you trust your Bible-leaning scientists (whom I don't). So it's all in whom and what you trust. Jesus promised me salvation for believing in Him, letting Him be my Master, and following His dictates. That's good enough for me and supersedes anything OT. I suppose if I was gunning for sanctification, I might be a little more gung-ho, but salvation and a blending of science and Scripture is enough truth seeking for this old buzzard!
Thanks. Why don't you believe in Buddha, or Krishna, or Muhammad, or Confucius, or the Pope, or Dawkins/Hawking/Gould?
Huge question with a simple answer. I use the same reasoning and logic on my evaluation of science: it must match my reality.
Rod - I don't believe them for the same reason you don't. They don't even exceed the basic smell test! My science belief does match reality - a lot better than Samson killing umpteen Philistines with a donkey mandible.
