Tea sorry I didn't reply to your messages sooner. I was gone all day. I'm just going to keep track of our books on here, I think it will be easier for me than using a spreadsheet. But, it was a good idea to start one, thanks.

Everyone, please include the series' name and all characters in your books in your threads. It'll give us more options in placing our books. Thanks.

I have a question. Are we going to say which letters we're each going to cover each week. I know we have said the books we're going to read this first week, but nothing on individual letters?
I know I'd like/prefer to know which letters I'm definitely going read and which team member will be covering what letters.

I just updated the Week One Post. I wanted everyone to be able to read whatever they liked, which is why I asked everyone to post the books they planned on reading this week and all of the other information. I have you down for the H, one R, and one L for the first round of spelling out the word, then the T and E for the second round. I don't know what Jordan or Alyssa will be reading yet.
❁ Danielle wrote: "For my above question, I've just seen message #4 saying the books for each letter."You wrote this while I was working on my response!
DanielleI'm not sure your After the Rain is long enough.
We'll need to check with Mods since it has only e-editions and one is less than 160 pages.
I saw 161 pages, but didn't look at other edition. It was being used for letter H so if it won't work, I'll change it.

Welcome Alyssa.Hope it was nothing serious and you're better now.
As it looks like not only main characters can be used, but others that have some importance in the story too.
Re-reads needs to be at least 6 months old.
And don't forget to put your books on wheel-a-thon shelf :P
Oh yes! Thank you for the reminder and kind words! And The Lovely Bones is older than 6 months so it does work :)

Jordan wrote: "I have finished My Salinger Year this week and also finished Bridge to Haven. Not sure what I will pick up next but I'll add it to my shelf when I do!"Great work Jordan!
Karla asked us to make one post in which we'll do updates of our reading (to make it easier for her). Will you use that post above for that?
❁ Danielle wrote: "I saw 161 pages, but didn't look at other edition."Yeah, I saw that.
But I think that 160 pages goes for paper books. If there is only ebook edition (and it's close to minimum pages) they usually check for word count. At least that was the case in previous challenges.
Don't change anything until we tell you for sure.
I have no idea where to check for book approval at the moment. :) Maybe Karla has more info.
Of course, you should pick whatever book you want to read. :D
❁ Danielle wrote: "I'll wait a bit to see it it's ok or not and if I need to change book later I will."There is probably going to be more shuffling in that week 1 post. Especially since Karla didn't have Jordan's & Alyssa's books. Maybe in the end your won't be used for H at all :D
We have enough books to start word again, so who knows what letters we'll need.
And it's only day 1! :P *happy dance*
Welcome Alyssa,! So glad you could make it, I hope your wrist doesn't cause you too much pain!Jordan and Alyssa I have linked you up to the first post in which you mentioned a book. I have everyone's links in message #9, so it is easy to find. Please update the post you are linked to, that will make it easier for me to check the books.
Danielle, I have asked the mods about
, as soon as I hear something, I will let you know. Tea, if you could read a book for "I", we will be able to spell our word twice this week (As long as everyone finishes the books they claimed).
Everyone, I have what we can use for the spell-it-out in message 10, please include all of that in your posts, to make it easier to place the books. Thanks!
Hi Alyssa, welcome to the team! I bought A Street Cat Named Bob recently, I hope it's good and the cat is so cute :) I just finished The Warrior's Apprentice (updated post 45).
Audrey Jane wrote: "I just finished The Warrior's Apprentice (updated post 45)."RL friend is pestering me to continue with this series. I've read only one so far. Somehow always find something else to read. :D
Maybe if/when we get SF :P

I did plan to read Cover Up. Main character is Ivan :P
By the way, at the rate I'm going, you can expect at least 2 more books from me

Thanks, Tea! I've added your book.
That's great! If everyone is able to finish their books, we will read our word twice and have at least five more letters.
❁ Danielle wrote: "Tequila Mockingbird finished today."Thanks, I just forgot to add the date to the list.

While you're editing, put in date for Envy :)
Just finished it.
I'm half-way through my books...and should be done within a day or 2. I can also add a couple more books then :) one of them being The Collector of Dying Breaths: A Novel of Suspense (book 6)..M.J. Rose, and Romance Is My Day Job: A Memoir of Finding Love at Last by Patience Bloom or The Inn at Rose Harbor by Debbie Macomber (book 1), and Tara Holloway series..Death, Taxes, and Extra-Hold Hairspray..Diane Kelly(book 3)

Just look at message 9 and follow the link to your books. It will make it easier for me to keep track of everyone's books if we all update a certain post. Thanks!
We are now trying to reach 2000 points. Karen has changed it because of the number of people who signed up for the challenge. Is this okay with everyone?

I've updated the Week One Post. We only have Audrey's and Tea's books left, and we have read our word! I will rearrange things as people finish their books. For example, if Danielle finishes her "T" book before Tea does, I'll flip them.

Karla wrote: "Danielle, we can use After the Rain."That's good, thanks.

That's fine, no problem.
Karla wrote: "I've updated the Week One Post. We only have Audrey's and Tea's books left, and we have read our word! I will rearrange things as people finish their books. For example, if Danielle finishes her "T..."My T was done hours ago.
Since I mostly finish my books in bed before sleep (one-more-chapter syndrome), I can't update my status before morning. I do sometimes put in 100% as current reading, but not always since I hate using app on tablet and I don't always have access to tablet.
With time difference between us, it'll probably always look I'm behind.
I do have a question.
Don't we need each of us to read letter in word first time? That's how I understood the rules.

❀Tea❀ wrote: "KDon't we need each of us to read letter in word first time? That's how I understood the rule..."
Do you mean ; does each team member need to read at least one letter from the word? The answer is no. Teams have variable team numbers so it wouldn't always be possible. So, for example, if your genre word was HORROR and you chose to read every letter in HORROR because the rest of your team were on holiday at The Bahamas that week, that would still count :)

That's what I meant. Thanks :D
But I'd stop playing with them if they left for Bahamas without me (and I got stuck with horror) :P

They are good! I like to grab the next one in the series every time I'm in a reading slump. Sometimes there can be months between each book. The first two (I'm following the intern chronological order) are about Cordelia and more focused on the romance. I just read the first one about Miles Vorkosigan (Cordelia's son) and it was a bit more technical imo so it took a bit to adapt but still good :)
Karla wrote: "I've updated the Week One Post. We only have Audrey's and Tea's books left, and we have read our word! I will rearrange things as people finish their books. For example, if Danielle finishes her "T..."
I'm currently reading On The Edge and will have no problem finishing it this week. I have a question: if for example I start a book at the end of the week but turns out I can't finish it on time for this week's genre, can said book count for the following week (if the letters match of course)?
Audrey Jane wrote: "I have a question: if for example I start a book at the end of the week but turns out I can't finish it on time for this week's genre, can said book count for the following week (if the letters match of course)? "Yep. It's finish date we are looking for.

Psst...If you're looking for a specific letter to complete your team's spell-it-out, check out our Lending Library for Nook and Kindle users.

Tea, I was just using your "T" book as an example because it was the first one I saw. I was snooping around the other teams' threads, and I noticed how a few had letters/books in the second set of their word marked as finished, but those same letters weren't finished in their first set. I just wanted to explain why I keep moving things around.

Okay, ladies, I have swapped Audrey's "I" with Tea's "I", so we have finished the first round! We will get the bonus for the genre read (thanks Tea!) and the bonus for finishing the word. That's 115 points, plus 20 for the two books Danielle has finished from the second round, we will get at least 135 points!
