That sounds so neat about your Harry Potter parties. I was never much for birthday parties but I would have done something nerdy and fun like that. I'm never going to have a crazy wedding like it, but I love looking at the articles/pintrist boards for the Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones(pushing luck though) weddings. Don't think I've seen any other Literary ones though.

Oh goodness yes! Be sure to set a timer if you wander into that area of Pinterest. You'll lose 8 hours and suddenly wonder how the sun is in the sky when you're not even halfway done.
Midnight releases sound like so much fun! I only started reading them just after the 6th one came out so I only had to wait for the last one, but I was only 9 when it came out so wouldn't have been allowed to the midnight release. I had to wait until the next morning. I'm not sure about parties but me and my friend used to play Harry Potter all the time. We'd make timetables for ourselves and spend and afternoon going to these "classes". We'd even write "essays" on the stuff we were supposed to be learning.
This week I'm reading Fall of Giants which is really long but I think I'll finish by Saturday. It's an epic so there are enough characters to spell the whole genre, so it can be used where needed. S: Spirya
C: Cameron Dewar
I: Ilya Kozlov
E: Ethel Williams
N: Nina

That's neat Lilac! I never played like I was in the school, but always got sorted Ravenclaw with a touch Gryffindor. However there is a website called Hogwarts School Online(hogwartsishere.com) where there is a 9week course that let's you actually go through 1st and 2nd year, and they're expanding all the time. Fandom nerds are great. I'm probably going to enroll once they expand a wee bit more, just so I don't have to wait as long.

That sounds so cute playing HP classes! And even writing essays! I probably would have done something like that if I had been younger (I was in my late teens/early 20's when they all came out).
@Heather--that site sounds awesome! On Pottermore I got sorted into Hufflepuff. I always figured I'd be more Ravenclaw, since I was always such a "school girl".
Just an FYI...I didn't think about this, but mods have said that non-fiction "characters" will not count as characters for this challenge. Fortunately, the only non-fiction book we have, we used as a title, so that's fine. So if any of you are reading, or planning to read non-fiction, we can only use the title or author.
I'm finished with Northanger Abbey, I'm now reading Me And Mr Darcy. The MC is called Emily Albright :)
I'm having so many problems with my wifi this week! It's so frustrating. They came out to fix it yesterday (and they never come within their promised timeframe so I had to wait for them all day), but for some reason, it still wasn't working on my kindle. I should have left it alone, but it was my kindle (!!), so I called AT&T support and the lady rebooted our modem and now the wifi doesn't work at all on any device. So now they have to come back out again. *banging my head against the desk*So for now, I can only access the internet on my phone, which kinda sux, but I'll just be grateful that I'm not completely cut off.
Anyhoo, I think I've made all the updates, but please double check to make sure I didn't miss something. My son is with his dad this evening so I will be able to finish Where She Went and get started on Silver Shadows :)
We are only 2 books away from our 1st spell out! Yay!!! Great progress everyone!!
That sucks I'm sorry! I hate waiting on service providers!!Couple of things to try: you can reboot your modem again -- unplug it & take out the battery pack for 3-4 minutes. Try turning off the wifi on all your devices then turning it back on -- forcing a reconnect.
We have to reboot our modem every month or so.
We got hit with lightening a few weeks ago. Knocked out all our cable & the upstairs AC. My only saving grace was somehow we kept the internet. It was over a week before everything got fixed. I thought I might go mad!
Put me down for On a Razor's Edge & Demons characters Charles & Sasha -- since they're quick reads.I'm also planning on finishing reading Mortal Enchantment -- author will work for an S, can't remember the other characters. The book sucks but it's short & I'm already half way through anyway.
I've got a few more I'm planning on tackling this week.

The tech guy from yesterday called to check if things were still working. So I told him the new problems and he helped me fix it! I had already tried rebooting, but this new modem has another extra reboot button, so when I did that, it worked! Still not on my kindle though, but I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with it. This morning when I took my son to his art class, I logged on to the wifi from the restaurant next door and downloaded a bunch of books! I should be set for the next 2 weeks! Lol
I don't even want to think of our AC going out! I'd die in this heat!! *knocks on wood*

We just got our AC working again
The internet here in France is not really great either. By the time I've written my messages and pressed the button ´post´, the connexion is already gone and I have to retype it all over. It´s getting annoying!
Just to update ya. I'm still plugging away on my book, but I'm thinking I should be finished tomorrow. :)
I wound up reading Half a King last night.Characters: Ebdel Shadikshirram, Isriun, Sumael, & Nothing (I'm not sure about this character -- he's called Nothing until about the last 2-3 chapters when you find out his true identity so I don't know how this works in the rules)
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around much suddenly. Misty has taken a bit of a turn and is at the vet overnight so it's been a bit of a mess around here. I'm still reading, but not quite the speed I was at before. I'll get Tigana done though.
Shannon wrote: "I've started reading King Hall author will work for an S, character that works is Ezra."Heather, I'm so sorry! My thoughts & prayers are with you! Don't worry about us, you do what you need to!
I think I've made all updates. @Shannon-I'm going to ask the mods about the Nothing character, because we can use the N. I'm thinking it will work because nicknames should count. But I'll ask to be sure.@Heather, I'm sorry to hear about your fur-baby. Shannon's right, don't worry about us. Take care of what you need to. I hope she feels better soon.
Thanks everyone. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do right now, just wait to see if anything good happens when the vet checks her again in 10 hours, so it's either mindlessly watch TV or lose myself in a book. And I have been wanting to read this book for years, just never getting around to picking it up, so it'll be a good distraction from how slow time moves when you stare at the clock.
I'm going to start a book today that works with T since we need those. Then tomorrow I'll do my F book. They are both relatively short.
Finished Me And Mr Darcy. I'm rereading Need by Carrie Jones, so it works for a N or a C. :-)For rereads, I just have to change the read date, right?
I read King CaveAuthor - Scarlett Dawn
Characters - Ezra Zeller, Richard Harcourt, Cahal Zeller, Antonio Farrar, Elder Talus, King Nelson
Finished Tigana. If anyone is a fan of grey area Sci-fi/Fantasy it's an amazing, intense read. Misty didn't make it so I'm probably going to be a little MIA for the rest of the week. If I do end up reading anything else I'll be sure to post it. Sorry everyone.
Heather, I am so, so very sorry to hear about Misty. I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a pet. Like we said before, don't worry about us. Take as much time as you need. You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. :(
Heather, I am so very sorry to hear about your loss! Losing a treasured family pet is indescriblebly difficult. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Don't forget this one ;)
Just read Cinderella and the Colonel
Characters - Cinderella & Friedrich
Thanks Shannon! We are now into our 3rd spell-out! Great job everyone! I finished Sprinkle with Murder and will begin The Scourge tomorrow.
I'm going to try and read several short KU freebies.I'm nearly finished with Arcane Solutions
Characters - Cordi, Nick, Thorandryll

Jaclyn, I think you missed my earlier post about finishing Moon Tortured, or at least it's still not checked off ;)
