Toby hugged Liam tightly smiling. He looked over at Alice with a few tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe that he was actually holding his own son. He followed her out to her car still holding Liam though he was pretty sure the little boy could walk.
Toby watched her with everything. He felt awful for making her go thru all of this alone. He wished everything could go back and he could be there for her. But he couldn't change the past however he wasn't going to miss another second with them if he could help it. She sat with Alice on the couch and hesitantly slipped his arm around her shoulders as they watched Liam play
Toby looked down at her," I'm sorry I was gone for so long." He whispered to her. He didn't know what else to say to her
Toby frowned a little and retold her what he has said to her brother. He knew that it was all over but he could still be transported there in the blink of an eye
Toby looked down at her in his arms," It's alright I'm here now and I'm not planning on going anywhere else." He said squeezing her softly
Tobias nodded a little smiling a bit," You're welcome. I couldn't leave you here alone." He said looking over at Liam again
Toby nodded a little and pulled her tight into his side," What did you tell him?" He asked softly looking over at Liam as he played
Tobias smiled a little," you told him all of that?" He asked softly wrapping both his arms around her.
He smiled," Im glad you told him about me." He said softly
Tobias nodded," Yes I suppose he does." He answered softly looking over at Liam
Tobias had rested his head against Alice's head. He smiled a little," What is it, Liam?"
Toby sat up a little," Well I'd like to, but it depends on what your mom thinks."
Toby glanced over at Alice and nodded," I will if you want me too." He answered. He wasnt sure if everything could go back the way it was before he left, but he was going to try to have a normal life,
Toby looked over at Alice," What?" He asked softly. He knew her well enough to know something was up. He knew all about the troubles of soldiers coming home and not being themselves. He was trying to get past everything and knew being with his family would help him. Tobias looked back at Liam and nodded," I am your daddy." He answered
Toby smiled back at her," Im glad I'm home too." He said softly kissing her cheek. He knew the road ahead of them would be rough. His commanding officer had told him to talk about what happened and it would keep his nightmares away. That and to y was determined not to resort to drinking to fix anything. He looked down at Liam as he climbed between him and Alice
Toby smiled a little seeing her blushing like she used to when they first started going out. He knew that things would come up about the time he was gone and what she did. Maybe she didn't really move on from him. He though to himself. If she was willing to let him he was going to really be Liam's dad like he would have wanted to if he knew about him before everything happened. Toby pulled Liam into his lap and then wrapped one arm around Alice tugging her over to him a little more
Toby hugged them both to him," so my little family what are we going to do with our day?" He asked them. Liam's laugh caused toby to smile widely
Tobias looked at Alice and grinned," Sure we can Liam... And I'll teach you everything I can." He answered
Toby nodded," that's a good idea to me." He answered nodding looking over at Liam. He smiled happy to have made him that excited
Toby hugged him back," you're welcome." He said
Toby chuckled softly as he watched Liam run off. He looked over at Alice," Is he always like that?" He asked softly
Tobias laughed softly," Right I'm sure.. He just met me." He answered hugging Alice close to his side
Toby chuckled softly and brushed his lips across her cheek," alright so what does he do that I do too?" He asked moving her so she was practically in his lap
Toby smiled gently at her. He didn't think she knew how much he missed her while he was held captive. He held her close so that he knew she wasn't some dream. Tobias chuckled softly," I do love gummy worms.. And I hate mushrooms.." He muttered," I see he picked all of my good habits to copy."
Toby looked down at her and frowned faintly," Ohh Alice, honey don't cry... I not leaving you and Liam again. I promise." He told her softly. He hated it when she was upset. Tobias brought her into his lap and held her against his chest,"shhh. I right here."
Tobias leaned close to her and wrapped both his arms around her tightly," It's alright I'm here now.. If you need to cry then go ahead.. I'm here to do whatever you need me to."
He cradled her close to him letting her cry. he gently wiped her tears away, "I missed you too sweetheart."
Tobias smiled just a little," hey it's alright. Don't worry about it." He said softly wiping her tears gently
Tobias smiled a little at her and wiped her face before looking over at Liam with wide eyes," Oh... I didn't mean to make your mom cry.. But Liam I was gone for a long time and she was sad for a while, now that I'm back she doesn't have to be sad anymore."((Okay thanks for letting me know. I hope that you have a good time at camp and in Chicago.))
{:)}Tobias looked between the two of them. Liam was a bright little boy and for that Toby was proud of him," Come here, buddy." He said moving a little away from Alice so that Liam could climb into his lap. He turned slightly towards Alice," Did you really cry at night?" He asked softly thinking about what her brother had told him
Toby smiled gently at Liam and put one arm around him. He looked over at Alice and put his other around her bringing her close to him," I'm sorry I made you cry.. I really didn't know what I put you through all these years "
Tobias shrugged a little," it's fine don't worry about it, I just don't want you to cry any more.. And I don't think Liam wants you to either."
Toby hugged her a little," Good."
(( that's cool just reply when you get a chance no worries:) Toby held Anna close to his side and looked down at the little boy in his lap. "Well we can go after we eat lunch." He answered quietly, still getting used to the fact that someone now called him dad
Toby looked over at her as she pulled away from him. He shook his head a little," No, it's fine if he calls me dad. It's just going to take a little getting used too. I kind of like it." He told her
Toby hugged her a bit," I promise it doesn't bother me when he calls me dad. Just make sure I answer him." He said holding her close to him
Tobias smiled and let her go," Thank you." He said softly as he watched her. " I can help if you want." He told her
Tobias reached for her hand and got up. After thinking about pulling her on top of him for a second
Toby smiled back at her still getting used to the fact that he was home and he had Alice and now Liam to care for too. He looked at te pictures of the years he had missed in both of their lives
Toby looked back over at her and nodded," That sounds like the best meal I've ever had." He told her softly walking into the kitchen
Tobias grinned at her," Now that I can live with." He told her walking closer to her
Tobias smiled at her as he walked closer," Your brother said that you work as a nurse now." He said softly
He nodded," Good for you." He said softly looking at her,"do you eat me to help you with anything?" He asked
Toby nodded a little bit," oh alright... Where did Liam go?" He asked((Yay!!!!))
Toby chuckled softly," sounds like something I would do." He muttered," I'll go see what he's up to." He told her walking out of the kitchen to find Liam
Toby nodded a little and went to look for Liam's room. He stood in the door way for a second and watched his son play, "Hey Liam." He said softly
Toby smiled a little more, "Liam your mommy wants you to go wash your hands for lunch."
Toby looked at Liam and nodded, "Yes I love your mommy." He answered
Toby watched him and knelt down next to him, "Who is Billy?" He asked, "I love your mom very much, but I couldn't help when I had to leave or how long I was gone for,"
