Hey I finished the book! I really liked it, and honestly did not expect of what happened to have happened. I noticed you're only about 50% though and that's okay!

I was thinking between 3.5 or 4 stars. Still don't know.

I have that problem often.

Yeah it sucks. I mean I liked it, but I also didn't really like it also. You know what I mean?

I am 70% (on chapter 31). I plan to finish tonight.

I hated this world. I can't believe that Nina would spend her whole existence worrying about (view spoiler)[ her sister and then leave her vulnerable and alone. (hide spoiler)]

It also made me cringe every time they said (view spoiler)[ sex-teen. It made me picture a robot made for sex, not a sixteen year old. It was horrible. (hide spoiler)]

I know what you mean when (view spoiler)[ she goes all out saying how she wants to protect her sister from this monster and then out of nowhere she just lets Sal take her to the oasis and of course something was gonna happen, stupid Nina. (hide spoiler)]

I also got the same image, (view spoiler)[ This world just felt too sexualized for me and was just a weird topic in general. I mean, it's unusual which had made it interesting, but I felt as if the author sometimes just made it too much! (hide spoiler)]

Oasis (view spoiler)[ although I was really glad when nothing happened to Dee, I really wasn't expecting that she would be okay. If you are that scared and you know grandma will be home in five minutes, then you just wait five minutes!! It makes me angry thinking about it. (hide spoiler)]

It felt like it was trying to be like 1984 but it never explained how certain aspects of life in this world were introduced and justified and it didn't make sense why people would ever agree to these things.

I also found it confusing that women (view spoiler)[ were considered to become adults at 16 while men weren't considered adults until 18. (hide spoiler)]

I agree with the 1984 aspect, it just didn't really explain how the world came to be as it was now in the year the book took place, and what had happened to cause the society the world became to be today.

And YESSSSSSSS (view spoiler)[ Like what was the main difference that made girls become legalized before the guys? That once they hit the time when guys would start noticing them, and they would (hopefully) get their period by then, made them an adult? It just was weird. (hide spoiler)]
