I feel like Max and her were well suited intellectually but it just wasn’t right. I’d pick Luke for her, but I do think that eventually she would get tired of him never wanting to do anything different.

LUKEEEE max didn’t match her wavelength, and chris is yuckie. Also, funny how jason/digger isn’t on here, i think they had an interesting dynamic!
Christopher, hands down.I really loved Luke and Lorelai as friends, but in a relationship Lorelai crushed him to much: he had no personality at all. He gave up all his passions, he never pushed for something he wanted. To me that is not a healthy relationship. Lorelai asked him to marry her while she was in a fight with Rory, she just needed someone to fill the space her daughter left, he knew it and took advantage of it. As soon as the fight with Rory was off and Luke suddenly had a thing of his own (the relationship with his daughter April), the relationship was unbalanced and blew up. Also I never really liked how he lurked in the background, always wishing that Lorelai’s relationships went bad… that’s not what a good friend does. He seemed so nice and then had those sudden wrath bursts. And his character had no real developed during the series at all.
On the contrary, Christopher and Lorelai had great chemistry. They had a very similar background, so he really understood that part of her. They grew up together, he always loved her, and had the same sense of humor. He has his own personality and was always a match for her, not backing down if he really wanted something: they managed to make compromises, like all healthy couples do. It’a true that he wasn’t there for Rory’s childhood, but let’s be honest: Lorelai didn’t want him to. She pushed him away, like everyone else. He was very immature at the beginning, but his character had an amazing development. Yes, the marriage between him and Lorelai was a bit rushed, but they were just perfect together.
And please don’t bring up the scene were Luke went to the hospital when Richard had a heart attack and arrived there before Christopher: it was an unfortunate coincidence, and he should not have gone there in the first place, it was totally inappropriate. Just think about it: your father has a heart attack, would you want your ex-boyfriend there? Even if you are in good terms, it’s just weird.
In conclusion, Lorelai and Christopher were a healthier couple.
None. I don’t like Luke and Lorelei as a couple they are better off as friends. I never liked max so that is my own bias, and Christopher just can’t sit still

how is this even a debate, luke for life, chris was a horrible husband and dad.he abonded lorelai when she was 17 to raise rory by herself because she wasn't ready to get married yet and showed up randomly throughout rory's life and never stayed. he only came back for lorelai, and when something happened between them, he left. But with Luke,whenever him and lorelai had a fight or broke up, he was still there for rory. that's how lorelai realized she loved him or wanted to marry him,when he was saying how rory couldn't quit Yale, because she realized how much he cared for rory. while Christopher couldn't even make it to her high school graduation. Luke never pressured or pushed lorelai while Christopher convinced lorelai to marry him when she wasn't ready yet because she had just broken up with luke and he also got mad when she didn't want to have another kid with him. Luke was always there for both lorelai and rory. He buit lorelai a huppah for her wedding with another man,gave her $30,000 for her inn,built her an ice skating rink so she would like snow again,remembered all of rory's birthdays,went to rory's graduation,stayed up all night planning her farewell party,and so much more. Team Luke for life
Luke’s perfect for Lorelai but lowkey I’m a Max girl 🥹 they have the best chemistry, really giving soulmates vibes imo

Luke and Lorelai togehter is such a dreamteam, but I loooooooveee Max. He was just so nice and warm to her and treated her so good. I ❤️ Max. :)
If I had to pick, Luke. I think just based on the writing it was very obvious he was going to the one at the end of the day. However, I liked that at the end of the series they weren't "together" because both of them needed to grow more as people apart. Of course, AYITL kinda ruined a bunch of their character work.
I liked Max as a character, but not for Lorelai. From the start I was hoping they would end up together and with each struggle in their relationship I kept hope.
Luke for lorelai, they are so wholesome together. Max is a good person too, just not for lorelai

Luke!! Duh! Luke is my dream man, I love how supportive he is, and he is also great for lorelai cuz she takes a TON of patience to be around. Max was okay, and I hated Chris. He always caused problems.
I love Max. He’s such a great person and personally he’s my fave as a character, but I do think Lorelei and Luke were just meant to be. I mean the whole show is just loopy looping around them getting together until they finally do!
