Welcome, Kyler!! So excited to have you on board. And happy early birthday! ^_^

How long have you been playing cello and piano? I am so impressed that you are so immersed in music. My singing breaks mirrors and I definitely appreciate good musical talent. XD

What kind of books do you like to read? Any poems you want to share?

Hi! I've been playing piano since I was five and cello since I was seven. I like to read YA< LGBTQ+ fiction, recreational math books, fantasy, middle-grade books, etc, but I've been trying to branch out lately. Hopefully, this group will help me do that! I write a lot of sonnets nowadays, with my own personal structure that I like to call "Kylerian sonnets", but I'll hold up on posting any of them until I submit them to this one scholarship I'm going for, in case they think I'm plagiarizing :x
Thank you for your interest though!
And I'm sure your voice is great. My friend thinks hers is bad, but her cat LOVES it when she sings :)

Allison Hahahahahahahahaha, Sam!

But you aren’t alone :D

message 54: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Norris Hi Kyler! That is awesome that you play cello and piano!! I play piano too, but I’m not very good. I only took lessons in middle school and a little into high school. I play almost every night though because it’s so fun.

Hahaha Sam, my voice could break mirrors too I’m sure lmao. My son tells me to stop whenever I sing 😂

I'm really glad you still play! I hope I continue playing piano even after I shift my focus mainly on the cello for my major.

Currently, I'm reading Things to Make and Do in the Fourth Dimension by Matt Parker, but I also got a math coloring book, The Indisputable Existence of Santa Claus by Hannah Fry, and My Best Mathematical and Logic Puzzles by Martin Gardner.
It's a good time.

That sounds awesome! As a kid, I loved books like Sir Cumference and the First Round Table: A Math Adventure by Cindy Neuschwander.

These little math adventures were fabulous!

Nonsense! What are your hobbies?

message 62: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments I uh...watch Netflix, sleep...read sometimes...random game sites online...cuddle the guy that was my boyfriend but isn't currently...I have no hobbies haha!

message 63: by Kyler (new)

Kyler (idkyler17) | 21 comments I love Netflix! and sleeping! and of course, I find reading quite fascinating!
I would definitely count those as hobbies, since you do them for fun in your spare time. :)

message 64: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Norris Hey, those are my hobbies too Melani lol.

Kyler, I'm sure you'll always enjoy playing piano even after the cello is your main focus! It's just so fun and relaxing to play. Like I said, I'm really not very good, but there are a few songs that I've worked hard to be good at and I play them all the time. My husband is so sick of hearing them haha, but it never gets old for me.

message 65: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments I just don't have any fascinating hobbies like you guys seem to have haha! I'm in the process of refinding out who I am after losing myself in this relationship to my soon to be ex husband.

message 66: by Kyler (new)

Kyler (idkyler17) | 21 comments Melani, I'm glad you're getting out a relationship that wasn't good for you, which I can guess based on your comment. I recommend paint by numbers. I love that stuff. Right now I'm doing starry night!

Elizabeth, I love that you're continuing playing those songs even though your husband gets annoyed! My friend used to always play tarantella to the point where I was slightly fed up, but I never told her, because she always looked so happy when she played it! I did skip that piece when it came up in my book, though :)

message 67: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Norris Kyler- lol I'm sure you did. I can remember learning a simplified version of tarentella in my lesson books and I can see why you might get sick of hearing that after a while.

Melani- It's so hard and depressing sometimes, but it feels good to start feeling yourself again. Back in 2012 I left a long-term relationship and didn't even know what to do with myself anymore, but once I finally started seeing friends and doing things I enjoyed again, I was so happy. Now I have a baby and a 2.5 year old, and I'm kind of back to feeling like I'm losing myself again. So that's kind of why I make sure to keep reading and playing piano I guess.

Sonja (avalonstar) | 3 comments Hi I’m sonja, my favorite books are basically all Harry Potter and twilight books. My favorite genres are fantasy, fiction, and romance. I ride horses, and am obsessed with horses and german Shepherds, I’m also a really relaxed and easy person to talk to :)that’s me in a snapshot basically :)

do you have dogs :O

message 72: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Norris Hi Sonja! German shepherds are such great dogs. I had one named Nakita growing up, and then a second named Kaiser that my mom adopted when I was just starting college. Do you own horses or just ride them somewhere else? I’ve always wanted to take riding lessons 😍

message 73: by Sonja (new)

Sonja (avalonstar) | 3 comments I don’t have horses right now, but I’m looking into getting one, and yes I do have dogs. The german Shepherd is named Apollo, and then I have a tiny mutt named Olaf

I'm really sorry Sam, but I'm Hufflepuff. Completely, 100%.

message 75: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments Kyler- Thank you! Yeah its been...something. I may have to see into the paint by numbers. I can't remember the last time I did one of those.
Elizabeth- I have plans to hang out with friends today and do a game day. We will see how it goes. I have a "friend" that is coming and bringing her boyfriend and I think she is more coming to flirt with my soon to be ex husband more then actually hang out with me. But I guess we will find out.

@Sonja WELCOME! Apollo is the perfect name for a German Shepherd! And Olaf. Oh my word. How cute! :) How old are your dogs?

@Lily I am sorry about that! I definitely don't want anyone displeased! I use a tool to randomly sort people, so to keep houses even. For some reason, it shows you as a [deleted user]. Message me if you are still a part of the group and I can resort you!

@Melani I hope hanging out with the friends turned out fun and not filled with too much drama!

message 77: by Anne (new)

Anne Vivliohomme (annevivliohomme) Hi you guys!
I have joined the group quite some time ago, but I have not introduced myself in here yet!
So I'm Anne and I'm from The Netherlands. On my profile it said that I'm from Canada but that's not true.. I guess when I made my account a couple of years ago I did something wrong:) whoops

I really like reading (surprise), but I don't have that much time for it because of school:(
I think that a lot of you can relate to this: I buy waaaay to many books... I play guitar (try to, because I'm really bad at it) and I love to draw.

Hi, Anne! I absolutely can relate to that, I have about 30 unread books on my bookshelves, haha!

Hi Anne! :) :)

I am right there with you in regards to not having time for reading. :( What are you studying in school?

message 80: by Allison (last edited Feb 03, 2018 10:31AM) (new)

Allison Hi Anne :)

You should be able to edit your profile if you wish...there’s an “edit profile” next to your name if you are looking at your own page. Click on that and halfway down shows “country” and you can change it from there.

message 81: by Anne (new)

Anne Vivliohomme (annevivliohomme) @Allie Thank you, I changed the settings! Now everything is all set!

@ Sam I'm still at highschool (did I phrase it correctly or is it "on highschool"?). I don't study one thing specifically, but a couple of courses I follow for example are physics, chemistry, biology and Latin. Next week I will have a workshop Anatomy and I'm so excited about that!!

message 82: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments @Sam it was mostly fun but my "friend" did flirt with my ex, and now he's trying to win me back and that part of my life is a mess.
@Ann I totally relate don't ask me how many books I have that I still need to read and yet I can reread Harry Potter but not pick up one of the million books I bought recently. haha!

message 83: by Anne (new)

Anne Vivliohomme (annevivliohomme) @Melani I wonder whether there is anyone on Goodreads who doesn't have too many books :D

message 84: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments @Anne Totally agree :)
Anyone heard of Voldemort: Origins of the Heir? Its on Youtube as a fanfic movie :0

message 85: by Anne (new)

Anne Vivliohomme (annevivliohomme) @Yes, I've heard of it! As a matter of fact recently downloaded it and I'm pretty darn curious! I have not seen it yet (so little time) but have you? And if you did, do you recommend it?

message 86: by Lisette (new)

Lisette (illusie) I'm sorry, but I'm going to leave this group. I'm in too many groups to be able to participate in all of them.

message 87: by Melani (new)

Melani (wolvenwriter) | 9 comments @Anne Yes I have seen it. It is really well done in my opinion. I do recommend seeing it. I was really hesitant on it since it was fanfic but it was really really well done :)
