I read this series early 2000 where a poor popular girl went through a roller coaster tunnel and ended up in a world where the people traveled through space, between three worlds. There she met a boy and discovered she could hear the radio waves from the space ships. She trains to listen to the waves and protect the space ships from space pirates.

Sounds like The Dream Voyagers by T Davis Bunn. He originally wrote the series under a different name as a trilogy I think. This volume brings the original books together in one book. Sorry I can't give you the link, I'm on my iPod.
