Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1321 comments Reading: Nine Ladies by Dolly1981
http://meryton.com/aha/index.php?show...
The Darcy family has grudgingly kept a secret about the power contained within a nearby Bronze Age stone circle. Fitzwilliam Darcy is forced to contend with the truth of this secret when a young woman from the future suddenly appears at Pemberley. Elizabeth Bennet tries her best to survive in the nineteenth-century until she can finally return home, but the truth she knows about Pemberley’s future becomes harder and harder to keep.
...as my first book at the higher level.

Mary | 245 comments Sheila-hope you're enjoying the library at Pemberley, the plush surroundings, the breathtaking views and the fine wines. I see a rather comfy armchair which I'm sure will suit Debbie down to the ground!
Congrats!🎉🎈

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1321 comments Thank you all. Hope to see more of you here in the future. I do see several friends sitting in their own nooks. I have to finish my first book at this level to make it official that I have arrived but then we celebrate!!!!!

Teresa | 201 comments If some night in Mr. Darcy's Library you look out and see a scary face pressed up against the window it'll just be me with a face green with envy and drool down my chin watching you all comfortably ensconced :-(
Congrats to you all.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1321 comments I will ask Mrs. Reynolds to arrange a fresh batch when you approach. Which tea is your favorite?

Debbie (dmbrown) | 1246 comments 198. The Darcy Madness - 4 stars
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is a re-read because the author just released another--Love And Other Madness--that I'm reading now. Turns out the second CAN be read easily as a stand-alone. Similar premise, but it's modern rather than Regency. I'd forgotten how much I LOVED the original story! Unfortunately, I'd also forgotten how repetitive and long it is.

I still recommend it if you have the time to devote to it. Took me two days, and I couldn't put it down.

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1376 comments Sheila, thanks for taking care of me. I am still a ways off. Earl Gray is fine or if Pemberley has an exotic blend... I would be happy to sample it. I'll see you in a few months.

message 567: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1321 comments I love Earl Grey but drink green tea for my health now or even chamomile.

I am going to read your review on this one. I love the first one so do believe I will love this one also. Nine Ladies is over 450 pgs. long when I copied and pasted it into Word. I am not even half way done.

I have never heard of nettle tea. I wonder if our store carries it? I will have to look for it.

message 571: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 201 comments Tried them all when I had to give up cows milk and couldn't drink ordinary tea with out it. This one was the best. I drink it all the time now and Fennel tea for an upset stomach.

message 572: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1321 comments I don't use milk in tea although I used to. Now I drink it with one Splenda or Truvia.

message 573: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 201 comments Just couldn't do it Sheila. I was someone who loved her cup of tea, especially in times of crisis but having to eschew milk it was never the same for me again. I don't miss it now. It's better than the rash and swollen eyes I ended up with when drinking it. The body is a funny thing. I was reared on it and at fifty years of age it turned on me and that was that.

Debbie (dmbrown) | 1246 comments Well, my last book in this library was disappointing, even though it's a GREAT story and the author is very talented. I'd love Christina Boyd or another good editor to fix all the excesses in this and the previous book in this series, because they both have such freaking fantastic plots.

SO frustrating because I think the author has tremendous potential and the plots in both books could be spellbinding if edited properly.

And, yes, Sheila, it looks like you and I will enter the Pemberley library arm-in-arm, girlfriend! Intimidating? No. We've been there before, right? Nothing new. *yawning with a bored expression*

I like that idea of a 10-mile circuit! Gonna try to visualize that. Of course, the hallways and underground passages are probably 10 miles too! Wooosh!!

Woohoo, Lenora! I knew it was not a matter of if, but when that you'd be joining Mr. Darcy for tea. :)

Some good ones in that batch, too.

message 598: by Anji (new)

Anji | 291 comments I've been sitting in the corner, trying to cough quietly into my handkerchief, whilst enjoying my first read at this level. Well, I'm not sure if 'enjoy' is quite the right word! There are no words for the wild and wonderful ride that is my:

101. In Good Conscience by Cat Gardiner 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

By the way, I can wholeheartedly recommend the experience that is reading the entire Conscience series back-to-back!

Then today, for a much-needed change of pace (and not entirely unconnected - you'll understand if you've read both), I've finally read an unpublished piece of North and South fiction that Sheila recommended to me several years ago:

102. Pack Clouds Away: A North and South Continuation by Lucy Stone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sweet, gentle and oh-so-romantic, it's a sequel to the book, not the dramatisation, (so no railway station scene) but I couldn't help but see RA and DDA as I read it.
