Susan | 79 comments I'm trying to remember a regency romance where the H, a duke (?) is found as a young child by (?) at his estate surrounded by dead family and staff after a (?health issue) strikes. He doesn't like to eat alone, or be alone????

Kate | 121 comments Was the health issue tuberculosis? And he continues to live on the estate with all of the staff who care for him?

The summary you’ve given sounds familiar to me

No, it was chicken pox or flu or "plague" of some sort. And he was found there as the only one alive.

It sounds a bit (except for the sexes) like the beginning of The Secret Garden, since that is how Mary is found at the home of her parents.

But it's not, lol.
It's a regency romance all about the grown up duke.

It's hilarious, although not from the H's back story.... but the heroine and her dog are such fun! I read it quite a while ago and just couldn't quite remember it, but knew it was a good one worth another read. Enjoy! 😊
