Wires and Nerve (Wires and Nerve, #1) Wires and Nerve question

Does it stand alone? Does it make sense?

If a person hasn't read any other Lunar Chronicles books...will it make sense?

I don't think it can stand alone, which is unfortunate. Due to it being about the same cast of characters the background knowledge is required. If it were the same universe with completely different characters it would be a different story, but it's not. That being said, as a person who has read the Lunar Chronicles I liked it a lot and I am looking forward to vol 2!

It doesn't stand alone in the sense that this is volume one of a series, and so it just stops mid-story.

In my opinion, Wires and Nerve overall isn't a story that can stand alone either.

It's a sequel to the Lunar Chronicles, and it seemed to me that it was written with the assumption that the reader already knew all the characters and what had transpired during the Chronicles. Since this is a story with 9 main characters introduced gradually over the course of 4 books, I personally would find it difficult to jump in here and keep track of who all these people are and what's going on.

I would recommend reading the Lunar Chronicles first.

Shelley Well said.
