Meredith | 8 comments I am looking for a book I read a while ago. It involves a forced marriage and the hero wants nothing to do with the heroine. I can't remember if they slept together before the marriage or if they consummated it. The day after the wedding, the hero sends his wife away to his country estate and she is there for several months. The hero's father repeatedly tells the hero he needs to be with her or go visit her and the hero tells him he will go see her for the holidays. When he eventually does go to see her, he finds her judging a contest of some sort in the town involving ducks in hats. And he see's she is pregnant. The story goes on from there and they end up in love and happy together.

Rebecca (craftyoldmaid) | 16 comments I was going to suggest the same as Juels, I've definitely read this book and I'm pretty sure it was A Perfect Scoundrel.

I have a weird feeling that I could only get hold of the large print copy which had half a page of text randomly deleted near the end... would love to know what those missing paragraphs said lol

I had that happen once with a library book. So annoying. I made sure the librarian know that someone did a BAD thing. :)
