Shannon SA (shannonsa) | 6 comments Hi Elizabeth, I've looked at this and done the following:

Behold the Dreamers replaces The Dry (post 559) at 15.7

GURKHA: Better to Die than Live a Coward: My Life in the Gurkhas goes from 15.6 to 15.5

The Christmas Books is left off

Therefore my points standing should be 105, not 120, with 15.6, 15.8 and 15.9 still to be completed.

Am I correct?

I will try to untangle this tomorrow. I think you are correct at 105, but I will verify tomorrow.

Cat (cat_uk) | 303 comments I posted One of Us is Lying, and didn't get the styles because of the low lex (see: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...)

I see it's now grandfathered in (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) - have I been given the styles automatically or not??

As at msg 744 I think I have 855 points, without the +10 styles.

I don't mind either way, just good to know!

Yes, you will, it looks as if I neglected to add it to the record after reporting.

Valerie Brown | 3277 comments Riding on Ed's coat tails.....

I see that Candide qualifies for 10.8. It never occurred to me that this would be shelved as fantasy, so I did not claim it.

My original post is #506 on Jan 10. I'd like to claim the extra 5 points for the 10.8 combo please!

Thanks!

And I didn't look! We'll get it added to the list for that task next session!

Thanks.

Well, who would have 'thunk' it... it is fantastical but not what I would call 'fantasy". I guess I'm stuck in a genre rut.

Ed Lehman | 2651 comments I was just as surprised about Candide... but it does fit...one just doesn't think of it that way. It does have over 170,000 reviews...so, that partially explains it....more creative thinkers than me.

Deedee | 2283 comments Would Dreams of the Golden Age work for 20.8? I'm almost finished reading it. Our teenaged heroine and fellow teenaged friends have been hiding their burgeoning superpowers from their mothers. (The superpowers manifest at puberty, so that would be a change from no superpowers to superpowers.) By the end of the novel they have transformed into "superheros" who embrace and use their superpowers openly for good purposes (like rescuing people from burning buildings).

Yes, Deedee, you can have that book for 20.8. I think Amanda has been very busy.

Owlette | 716 comments Asking for 20.8 consideration for The Blue Fox, please. I had posted a request in the 20.8 thread (post #49 has the active link to the spoiler).

"finished The Blue Fox and near the end of the book, (view spoiler) And that is the last we hear of him, other than another character writing a letter about him. The other character does not know about the conversion. Does this qualify for this task?"
Thanks.

Thanks Elizabeth! And, re: Amanda, I understand being very busy

Owlette | 716 comments Did I make a math mistake? My latest point count per the moderator is 5 points less than what I have in my records: 1105 versus 1110.

My most recent ones:

Day of Pleasure stories by Isaac Singer 50 (a decrease from 55 to 50 per moderator)

Additional 5 points was granted by moderator for Blue Fox meeting 20.8

Club Dumas 50

Ficciones 60

Completion bonus 100

for total of 1110

Thanks.
