a soulful date...soulful mean important. and today is an important date as it's the day our quest begins. torn also mean snatched and our loved ones have been snatched from us

"Kmae, stop nagging Zaynah. Zaynah, pull yourself together. Ruby, what on earth are you doing with Arnold?"I ask annoyed. "Weren't we supposed to go somewhere? Like, California? So get in that car, and buckle up. I've never tried this, so everyone: hang on tight."
Once everyone has a seat I will myself with all my power to make this work. We will hop to California, we will do it with the car, and this will work! I hear everyone mutter prayers to anyone who will listen as I steer the car to the biggest shadow I can find. I accelerate, and bend the shadows around me. I visualize Disneyland, yelling at Zaynah she must do the same. Then we hit a bump. The car shakes, and stops in the middle of Main Street. I see Ruby and Kmae go white, and Zaynah looks like she's going to puke.
"Told you I'd get us here." I smile, before I run off to empty my stomach.
I nearly puke myself, but I control the urge and say shakily, "Let's...not do that again..." I pass out, and for some reason I turn into a bowler hat.

When I return I notice that I wasn't the only one that emptied her stomach. I decide not to say anything, and walk over to the fountain. A rainbow! "Over here! Look! Anyone got a drachma?"
Yup here you go". I say pulling a gold coin from my pocket an flicking it at maj. "He ya go. "
"Thanks. Let's pray this works." I throw the drachma into the rainbow "Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me Katharina."The rainbow shimmers and the figure of a girl comes up. Hunched together with a boy, around our age, she looks up. "Maj!" she whispers. "Maj, what's happening? Why did they bring me here?"
"Kat?" I say. "Where are you? Do you know where you are?"
"I do." the boy replies.
"Where?" I ask the stranger. I had no idea who he was, but he seemed to be looking for someone. "Is there anyone else with you? Who captured you?" I questioned.
Before the boy could answer a voice yelled, "What's going on down there? Be quiet!""Are you Daniel?" I asked.
"Yes," the boy replied. "Where's Zay? Is she with you?"
A piece of paper slips out from under the brim of my hat, it reads: "Hey Daniel, nice to meet you and yes Zaynah's here... She's crazy worried about you , ya know..."
"Where are you? We want to rescue you. Is it just you two there?" I ask.
"no. there's another girl here too. shes young. like 10 years or something. wheres zaynah i want to see her." daniel says panicked.
"hey. danny. hey im here. its ok. im coming ok"
Another slip of paper: "Wait, wait wait," it reads,"How are we even seeing this? Wouldn't there be any special barriers or something? Or-" I had run out of space on that paper, so I did a new one: "Or, oh no! I bet whoever has them captured, has SPECIFICALLY not put up barriers so that he (or she) can track us! And send monsters and stuff to kill us! Stop it! Stop the messege! NOW!!!"
The messege is vigurously waved in the air, as if by invisible hands.
and then it disappears. along with daniel. i gulp and time seems to freeze around ,me. i do not trust myself to speak. i may break down completely. my hands quivver and eyes well with tears. "he was scared. he was in danger. he could die...and it was all my fault"
"Dude, not an ounce of this is your fault. You had no idea. It is not your fault he has been abducted. The best you can do is save him. These captors are playing a dangerous game." I say, trying to reassure her. I pat her on the back to make her feel better. "But we have to get moving. They already have our location. We have to get away from here." I say. "Wait... Oh my gods. We don't even know what we are up against! Who is the enemy? What powers and authority do they have? Oh, no no no. That. Is. Not. Good." I say, chewing my nail from nervousness. "And who was that girl with them? The ten year old?" I ask. I didn't know any ten year olds.
i stare up at kmae and smile at her. she has no idea how much her words mean to me. i wipe my tears and sniff. i get to my feet and nod. "your right lets go. and aren't the enemy the gods themselves? their angry. or their upset...or...or the gods are in trouble. time is controlled by the gods isnt it. and we have 7 day. 7 godly days. gods or demigods don't have a time curfew....think about it...who would want to get revenge on the gods and take their anger on their children.
"Uh... pretty much every monster ever to walk the earth?" I answer. "They don't want to be besties with the gods, do they?" I say. "What in Hades did we do to get the gods mad? I don't do anything! I just live normal!" I exclaim. "Oh, not to mention the whole thing with Ruby's mom!" I rub my poor over whelmed head. "Oooh this is too much! We are so dead!" I say, loosing hope that I never really had.

"I can only hope." I say with a wink. I turn back to Zaynah. "Yep. Little ol' me still needs to be figured out. But thats not our main problem." I say. "Add Hecate to the list. She is not a helping hand. But... none of those seem to have a reason to try and attack us!!! Wait..." I say, thinking in deep thought. "Maj is a daughter of Hades. Zaynah is a possible daughter of Zeus, those are 2 big main gods. Maybe its the minor gods who are against us. Sure, that happened in the fight of Manhattan, but maybe they are making their own rebellion against the gods. Old grudges. And you two," I say, gesturing to Maj and Zaynah. "Are the children of some seriously big gods. Ruby is a child of a minor god. And her mother is not happy with us." I explain. It was slowly clicking together. "But why... why is her main threat me?" I wonder aloud. "Must be because I'm a weak link of the group. If she knocks me off, not as much competition, I guess."

Suddenly I turn back to my normal shape. "Okay, guys. So it might be a minor god... or goddess. It might be my mom, but somehow I doubt she has anything to do with this. It's not like she gets out much... What are some minor gods we know of?"
