"If I end up a possum or something that's the last time I agree to play with you! But, I give up. Why not?"

I grin even wider and beckon her to follow me into the carraige. We sit at the center table and I start dealing out the cards. "Alright, we'll start with something simple. How about Go Fish? Okay, but we need to make it....exciting. That's how I usually play my games, I add a little flair to them... Like, every time someone gets an ace, our location is changed!" Mae looked at me quizzically. "For example, If I drew an ace of spades, I could choose a cool place for whoever is playing the game. We would go somewhere, but still be here in the carraige. It would just be our minds moving, and when ever we wanted to come back, poof! We're back. Got it?"
"wooohooo," i was riding the first shark to each shark and ripping just one canine out....it made them tame and made them calm. there were over 50 different sharks great whites, pole claws, hungarian saws, norwegian bull backs...and i done it to every one on my own. the last one wasn't so easy though. it was fierce and pierced my left hand. i scowled at the shark...."stupid fish...just...stay....still" i shouted and jumped off my pet and onto the back of the blue claw it thrived and flung me off. my back hit the hard ground at the bottom of the sea, i didn't know how deep i'd gotten. i sank to the bottom and something hooked to my vest. i thrived against the force of the water my lungs were going to burst from the force of the compressed air. i tried to wiggle out the clutch of the stone reef but to no avail. i tried to scream but nothing except a low grown escaped my mouth followed by bubbles. i'd lost my air. i thrived against the reef but it wouldn't budge. my weapons were on the bank. i tried swimming up but the weight of the boulder held me down...down...down
Suddenly I sat bolt upright. "Something's going on." I muttered. Mae looked at me curiously. "Wha-" But she was cut short when I bolted out the door and onto the deck. "ZAYNAH!" I screamed to the water.
MY EYES FELT HEAVY UNDER THE WATER. I TRIED GRABBING FOR MY THIGH STRAP WHERE MY KNIFE WAS...I HEARD A DISEMBODIED VOICE...I TRIED SCREAMING BUT TO NO AVAIL. I THRASHED AGAINST THE HARD STONE BUT...
Without warning I leaped into the freezing sea water once again. I swam frantically down until I reached where Zaynah lay motionless, pinned by her shirt against a huge rock. I screamed, and let out precious air. I heaved myself against the rock and pushed with all my might. I was almost out of air when Mae came swimming down, and helped to heave it off of her lifeless body. Mae and I dragged Zaynah up to the beautiful oxygen air above the water. I passed out from loss of air and Mae gave a whistle. A sea turtle swam up and Mae dragged us both onto its shell. The humongus turtle then swam up to the carraige and dropped us onto the deck, where I woke up and lay, coughing up water.
i was still going down i felt...until i felt firm grips around my wrists but i was long out by then....had i died...was i dead...was daniel dead. i felt a tear slip from my eye...and then my head lolled ot the side and i lay motionelss on the hard deck!
After what seemed like hours, I woke to find myself in the carraige body, Zaynah still asleep across from me. I stirred, and Mae came over. "Wh-what happened?" I asked blearily.
I saw Zaynah stir and yawn, also looking around, slightly confused.
"Well... Zaynah was pinned by a strangely large rock, you went down to help, both almost drowned, then I came to help. Then I dragged you two to the surface, and Billy came to help. Then you two sat here unconscious for about 30 minutes. Thats pretty much it." I explained.
"Oh...." I said, still half asleep. Then I woke up with a start. "Billy?!?!?"
"The turtle that carried you to shore. He left, going to find some jelly fish. Thanks to him, your alive and not on the bottom of the sea."
"Soooo... about that game of cards. We got off course so its gonna be another 30 minutes. We can all play."
I nodded weakly and picked up my hand. "Do you have any- oh, I have an ace!" With that, Mae and I were whisked away and our mind selves plopped down in what looked to be a desert. Mae turned to me, looking disbelieving. I shrugged, the game takes us to whereever we want to be most, We dont choose it, our minds do. I guess my brain wants nothing more to do with water."
"What happens if our minds disagree?" I ask. I am immediately answered by a blanket of snow popping up on top of the sand. "What the..."
I nod grimly. "That happens. Our minds mess up everything. That's what I had forgotten. That's why this game is so dangerous, we could end up in outer space, just because our brains get scared and confused by all the unexplainable changes. I think this was banned or something..." I frown in concentration.
My jaw dropped and I just starred at Ruby. "RUBY! GET US OUT OF HERE! NOW!" I roared.
Before Ruby can do anything I grab everyone and pop to the first place I can think off. Debbie's kitchen.
"Wha... Oh." I say as I look around. Then something pops into my head. "Hey... Ruby, does the place have to still be there today? And do people appear also?"
I look around, only mildly interested, and say, "Hey, this reminds me of-" And we popped into my bedroom. "That reminded you of your-" Began Maj, but then we popped away and it looked like we were back in Debbie's kitchen.
"Uh, I'm not sure about what you mean, but I do know the only rules are whatever your brain comes up with. Time and space has no meaning here."
"Seriously?" I say, my face brightening. I focused really hard on my cabin. I closed my eyes in concentration. I felt a pop, and I opened my eyes to see the familiar red-brown wooden wall. It was an old fashioned living room, with a torn green couch. A fire place with a stone outer sat there, a frozen fire blazing. Sitting on the matching green recliner, was a man in a grey "#1 Dad" shirt with a baseball hat. He was also frozen but his blue eyes sparkled with glee in the fire light. His black hair, looking like someone had lightly sprayed silver over it, was sticking out of the hat. He wore beige cargo pants with several pockets. A women in a pink shirt was caught in mid step, holding a plate of chocolate cookies. She wore nothing in her wavy dark brown hair, her smile blazing. Her brown eyes were deep and truthful. Two younger ones were leaning over the banister above, froze in mid giggle. One looking about 7 years old, a spitting image of the woman with the cookies. The child next to her had the same blue eyes as the man, but had blonde hair, freckles sprinkling her 5 year old nose. "Bria. Gwenny. Mom. Dad."
I tried to keep my mind blank as Mae had her moment. I watched her circle around to stare lovingly at the childrens' faces, then go back and hug her mother. "Mom." She said softly, then began to cry.I stepped forward to comfort her.
"I'm ok. Lets go." as soon as I say that, the scene changes. We are back in the boat, sitting there with the cards spread out on the table. My head felt like it had been hit with a jack hammer. "Well... that happened. And it happened painfully."
I nodded, and we continued to play.
We finally came to dock at the sandy shore. It was beautiful and tropically. There was a huge mountain looking figure in the distance. "There she blows!" I shout cheerfully. "Lets go find Kat and Daniel!" I say, right after shoo-ing off the sea animals.
Lets go" I say eagerly bi couldn't wait to see Daniels face
We hiked up the tall volcano, all hot and sweaty. I felt refreshed and happy. "Now, we have to go all the way down it." I said, advancing towards the the whole in the top. I looked down it, seeing how far it went. I saw a black rock bottom about 200 hundred feet below. "Just as I suspected. A layer of cooled magma is covering the lava inside. That means that when we break through it, Mauna Loa is going to have some melted demi-gods. So, we need a way to make it through with out being burned to ashes. Ideas?"
I thought for a moment, then said, "Why don't we combine our powers and create a sort of make-shift submarine?"
"Good idea. Maj and Zaynah? You guys need to use your dark and cold Hades power to keep the heat out. A small bubble is all we need. Ruby? I need you to supply enough oxygen to keep us going for the trip. And its 'off to the center of the earth!'"
ummm...thunder...we need thunder too." i say. we hold out our hand. me maj, ruby and mae grab each others hands and make a cicle. then golden sparks emitate from them...they entwine with thunder colored vines and dark spirals. a bubble appears and we step into...a dizzyinh lighheaded feeling takes over us then we fall down to the center of the earth!
I hum as we wait in silence, descending rapidly down the volcano. "So we should get to the center before the enemy does. We need an attack plan. I say we have someone posted at all angles. But someone standing in plain sight as a distraction. I say I'm the distraction, Maj is at the right, Zaynah at the left, and Ruby at the top. When someone charges at me, Maj comes in and attacks with the element of surprise. Then Maj will stand next to me. More than two will attack now, assuming they have about seven. Zaynah will bounce in and attack with us. That should take them down quick. Then, they'll go on full force on us, sending all the rest. Then Ruby will drop down, and put a small electrical wall down, out of no where. That will stun them long enough for us to attack and finish them off. Then we will be able to take the captured, and get out of there through the side, ending up somewhere in North America. What do you think?"
"i think its perfect" but inwardly i groaned...this all seemed too easy. i think mae could read the expression on and agreed cause she immediately began gnawing on her bottom lip
"But we don't exactly know where or what the center looks like... Or who our enemy is.... What if it doesn't go as planned? What if someone gets hurt-" I threw a sideways glance at Zaynah- "and can't fight? What if we get captured first? What if we're too late?" I could tell I was voicing all our fears. I said the last one again. "What if we're too late?"
"We won't be. Not for Daniel." I say. "Daniel must be in there. He just must."
I nodded, but I was still unconvinced. "Alright, which direction?" I said, sounding more optimistic than I really felt.
I look at Ruby, hoping she won't ask questions about the fact that I said 'Daniel', and not 'Daniel and Kat'."Forwards, I assume?" I say with a weak smile.
"Alright. Now, wait a second. Is this not odd to you? Traveling to the center of the earth in a cold air bubble... And still finding ways to talk..."
"I was taught how to fight by dead people..." I say. "This is definitely not the weirdest thing I've done in my life."
we walk but i tag behind to have a phew WORDS with ruby..."whats up with the stares ruby...you think i can't fight?!"
I look at Zaynah, shocked. "No! It's just when I said someone might get hurt, I was thinking in my head, 'again', and it reminded me of that nasty experience you had. And how-" I gulped at the memory. "I-it was my fault."
I grabbed ruby's arm to hold her back. mae gave me an enquisativre look but i urged her on..."give us a sec"
"ruby, what happeneed wasn't your fault. the poison, i did that to save you guys, it was the only way, plus i love risk...the adrenaline....you should try it....when this is all over and as long as no more things arise i'll talk you cliff diving...anyway the water, you saved em ruby. i wouldn't be here if it wasnt for you and mae...i'd me feet beneath earh...well i am still feet beneath earth....btu i'd bascially we dead....you saved me and i never even thanked you...RUby. Thank you for saving my life"

I was repeating the 'what if's Ruby had stated, pondering the possibilities. Its going to be dark, and these people knew what our loved ones were. They sure know a lot, which worried me. The center of the Earth is going to be a chamber or something. What if someone did get captured or hurt? A light turned on. "Guys, the De-Ticklers!" they all stared at me like I was completely crazy. "There was a game that my sisters and I used to play. My dad liked to sneak up and tickle the heck out of us. So we formed plan, called the De-Ticklers. One of us was the medic. She would rescue who was abducted and being tickled, make sure she was alright, and tend to her wounds then send her to battle. She would also fight, but her main priority was to rescue, cure, release. Another position is the attacker. She would just attack straight on, always fighting 24/7. Then there was the substitute. When the medic was injured, captured, and so on, they would jump in and take their job. Same goes for the attacker. But in our case, we have four team members. So we'll have a double jobs. Who wants to be what?"
i stepped straight away "attacker" i said then for reassurance strung my bow string and sharpend my blades
"Oook. I'll be medic. We can still do the original positioning, just it'll be more organized with our jobs. Is that ok?"
"I suppose I should be a medic too, I have my magic."
"Ok. That leaves Maj as our substitute. I think we are almost there." I observe the earth we are passing, seeing we were very deep, close to the core. "You guys ready to save the day?"
I nodded and pumped my fist in the air, " I was born ready!" Then I laughed and put my hand down. "Who am I kidding, I'm shaking like a leaf!"
"Who isn't? We don't even know what we are up against. But my guess is that its something reptilian. And poisonous." I shiver at the thought. "In that case, best to shot instead of stab, which would give us better chances. We would need incredible speed to do hand-in-hand combat with snake like creatures."
