I prob won't start until Dec 18th when I can buy the audio to save my eyes from the book. I will let you know!
Mel, and do you have The Curse of Chalion? We plan a buddy read also in December. What is your line up?
I have all the books in this series but I'm trying to get them on audio to save my eyes. I have a ton of books to get through so I don't know what I'm going to do.

I will get the audio on the 18th when my credit card rolls back over and come see what y'all are up to 😊
I know the feeling! Here is the thread Mel https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... I hope you can make it! xx
Duh! I had turned on the notifications for this thread. Why didn't I receive any?!And Yeay!!! The whole team is here!
Except Zaara and Iain? Have they deserted?
I do hope you'll get the audio before the 3rd Leeloo. This here is such a lovely company - it's gonna be a fabulos BR! :)
Aw, I feel ya with the purse-strings. I don't have a library so this reading habit can quickly get expensive. I'm a hard-copy reader, but I've taken to buying ebooks just because of the cost. Join us late if you can, I'd love to hear your input Leeloo!
I have the mass markets but trying to get as many little big books on audible to save my eyes. The library doesn't have the audio. I will see what I can do 😕
I might be late in starting this, unless I can find it in audio. Signed up for too many books in December :/

Thank you 😄 I'm over booked < --- 😂 But I spent money I don't have to get the audio. It's on peeps. Well, I hope so. We have to change out our internet stuff at the worst month with all my books. I hope it will go smoothly and I can be right back on here but with my stupid luck 😡 It's really stressing me out 😕

I'm almost finished with the book! I started listening hours ago. I love this series on audio. (I listen in double time) I will see what people think as they go along. I actually love this one better than the first one! It's sooooo good and sad and gooood!
It's sadder than the first one?I should drink plenty of water then. //Fears dehydration
Will start later today~

I signed up... but the read hadn't started yet, so I wasn't checking the thread much... I'm overbooked again... we'll see how this week goes... got 2-3 reads to finish before Curse of Chalion on the 10th...

I'll also start a but late. only after finishing 2 other books. I'm in the same boat as you Iain with the overbooking. :)
You all will love it!!!! I'm overbooked too so I'm reading everything however it comes about and trying not to lose more of my mind!!
Oh wow, Leeloo you got a good jump on us! Glad to hear you're liking it. I'll have to try to catch up. *stretches* *cracks knuckles* Get ready for some spoiler tags.
Nothing like a six hour journey to help finish a book in one sitting. Mariller's prose is as wonderful as ever, but I have to admit I liked this book a little less than the first.
General Notes;
(view spoiler)
I already love this one better than the first Leeloo and I'm just close to the end of chapter 4. I'll probably read a lot more of it today too.... because it is WOW!!!!

I finally started a few minutes ago... there's quite a list of Fae and such at the start... I didn't pay much attention to it all... I'll get the salient points as we go...
After all the talk of how slow the first audiobook was, I'm giving this one a go at increased speed... the iBooks options are 0.75x, 1.0x, 1.25x, 1.5x, and 2.0x...
I tried all of them for a second to see how they sound... 1.5x is approaching chipmunky I think... even at 1.25x I'm left wondering about the narrator's breathing... even tho it's the program going faster, not the narrator herself...
I probably couldn't listen at increased speed at work, but at home when I'm just playing a Bejewel-clone RPG, it's not too bad... I assume it's even easier for the people (like Melissa, right?) who listen and follow along in their book/Kindle to listen at increased speeds...
Edit: I guess it's just something you get used to after awhile... I'm running it on 1.5x now...
So far, I find it interesting listening to an MC that knows the events of the first book, and fully expects something to happen to this next generation, as well...

So far, other than what I said before, this story is pretty similar to the first one... (view spoiler)
I DO like that there hasn't been much in the way of sorrow, yet... but I assume I just haven't reached that part yet... (view spoiler)
