Jim | 21809 comments Weird thing happened when I was putting Amazon links into my blog.
First I put the link in for the book on Amazon.co.uk
Worked fine
Then somebody said I'd not put the American link in. So I thought I better had, and however I put the link in, whether I copied and pasted it from the Amazon.com page, or typed it in manually, it automatically linked to the book on .co.uk

Is there a reason for this or is it just life?

Hi Jim. That's really odd. Have you heard of 'Booklinker'? You can use that site to generate a global link for each of your publications which will direct your prospective reader to their appropriate 'local' version of Amazon. It's free and it only takes a couple of minutes to set up; you can create a global link for your Amazon author page too. These seem to work well enough on my Wordpress blog, and you're able to see how many clicks you get from each country, so it's quite useful in helping to determine your click-through to purchase conversion rates. Good luck!

Jim | 21809 comments yes somebody else has suggested booklinker.net. I'm going to have to explore it because my blog won't let me put in Amazon.com links, it automatically changes them to .co.uk

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments That's most odd. I had a similar thing recently when I wanted to copy the link to some of my books on amazon.com. I did the usual thing ... open Amazon.com, then type in the name of my book into the search.

Result? Nothing. Not a bean. My books had become invisible on Amazon.com. I could see them on .co.uk. I could get to them on .com by following the review links on .co.uk. But I couldn't search for them directly from .com.

And yet today I can.

Sometimes Amaxon moves in mysterious ways.

Hi Will. I had a very similar thing happen recently where my publications on Amazon.com and a number of other Amazon sites all vanished and became unsearchable, as did I (except in the UK). This was extremely alarming, particularly when considering that I had an impending promotion, so I emailed the KDP support staff and they said they'd look into it. It appears to be quite a common 'glitch', but from what I can see, it's now been sorted out. It's worth keeping an eye on the other Amazon sites though to make sure that you've not been 'disappeared'.

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments H.E. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't just me! I was starting to get a little paranoid about it.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I use booklinker too. It's so simple, even I can use it! :)
