Which new releases are you most looking forward to?
Some pretty obvious releases I’m looking forward to but I can’t wait for:Rhythm of War
Ready Player Two
Battle Ground
For those - like me - who can't get enough of Adrian Tchaikovsky, there are three works scheduled for the first quarter 2021The Expert System’s Champion (Jan), the sequel to his novella "The Expert System's Brother"
Bear Head (Jan), the sequel to his "Dogs of War"
One Day All This Will Be Yours (March), also a novella

:D I have the feeling somewhere in this ancestral line was a typewriter. He writes his novellas/novels faster than I can read them.
This is certainly not Gabi's fault but I like blaming her anyway :)
I would love to read Dogs of War but it seems I would have to order a book from the UK to do it and every time Gabi points out how good it i,s I mentally fly to Germany and throw something at her.
Now I have another book to do that with.

I bought it on my French account in Kindle format. I had to do the same thing with Cage of Souls. That was a year ago, so maybe I'm still good...Oh, I also ticked the boxes on the product page on amazon.com that say: "I'd like to read this book on Kindle".
^^' Oooh, sh***, I'm so sorry, Hank! ^^' I should check the availability in US next time. I never think of that when I find something new.
and The Expert System’s Champion is available for pre-order for $3.99 so I bought that one as well. That's the price I see, I don't know what the price is in other countries. This book One Day All This Will Be Yours is far too expensive on both sites

Same happens in Australia, so many books on goodreads that are "free" or selling for a low price for a special . We dont get them, dammmm
I didn't love Graceling (Fire was my favorite of the trilogy), but was interested enough to check out the blurb when I heard that a fourth book is coming out in January: WinterkeepIt has telepathic foxes! It just made my first priority list ^_^
Anna wrote: "I didn't love Graceling (Fire was my favorite of the trilogy), but was interested enough to check out the blurb when I heard that a fourth book is coming out in Januar..."Graceling was my favourite in the series, and although the third one disappointed I'm still keen for the new one. Especially now that I know it has telepathic foxes lol
Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about all these series getting a continuation so many years later, but I'll try it for the foxes!
I got really excited for a minute there, I thought there was a pub date! No, I haven't even read the first book. Or watched the show. I've been holding out for the last book :D
I'm still only 3 books in, cause I listen to them on audible - and often I need the credit for some other book in that month.

No, no! I love the fact that this group is less US centric than many of my other online interactions. I am really hoping his publishers read this thread, get on the ball and get a better U.S. distribution. That can happen right?

John Conroe's next Demon Accord book, i must re read the series in anticipation of it .plus i have just re read Anita Blake, i wonder if there is any new books in the past few years.
Rythm of War preordered on Audible (amazing what they can get you to do for $5). But 55 hours!, and I have to get thru the previous 4 which is around 150 hours. There goes October and November reading list.
Yes Laurell K Hamilton is still putting out new Anita Blake books (one was just released this year). I gave up on them a while back but I loved the first 10 or so.

Just heard about this today, new book coming from Charlie Jane Anders, next year: Victories Greater Than Death.
MadProfessah wrote: "I’m hoping Brian Staveley releases new epic fantasy in the world of the Annurian Empire soon."You mean The Empire's Ruin?
Meredith wrote: "Just heard about this today, new book coming from Charlie Jane Anders, next year: Victories Greater Than Death."Can't wait for this one too!
@Silvana yes!! Staveley’s “The Empire’s Ruin”I don’t quite understand why there’s such a big gap between his 4th and 5th books. His first 4 were in 5 years and then a 2.5 year break? But some people seem to have read drafts of the latest....
Anna, did you see that Lois McMaster Bujold just finished her first draft of a new Penric novella? It's titled "Masquerade in Lodi"

I'm not sure why but I am too happy that we finally have a Kettral-focused story so I am willing to wait. It's the best part of the first trilogy.
Well I don’t have to wait for Hollowpox by Jessica Townsend anymore. I bought it yesterday. Yayyyy can’t wait to start it.
I'm looking forward to this one: Persephone Station by Stina Leicht. I like her books which up until this one were in the realm of Fantasy. This one will be SciFi and a Space Opera (according to he blurb). Andi it's rumored to be a stand alone book, not part of a series
Nightfire Books is launching an audio exclusive horror anthology on Thursday. Details here. The 2019 anthology is also still available, both are free, and all relevant links are in that article.Come Join Us by the Fire
Come Join Us by the Fire Season 2
Yoon Ha Lee is doing an AMA next Tuesday, when Phoenix Extravagant comes out. There's also a chance to win the book. Details here.

I think it had something to do with a change in publishers.
I just found out that there is going to be a full length novel in the same series as A Dead Djinn in Cairo and The Haunting of Tram Car 015 - A Master of Djinn! Also, I somehow missed the news about The Genesis of Misery (now with official GR page!), but I am also very very excited about that.

AAAAAAHHHH!!!!(Sorry, long day, this is amazing news!)
edit: WHAT IT'S ALREADY OUT!!! I thought you meant preorder. OH NO my weekend plans need to be rearranged. Going to buy this immediately.
Kaa wrote: "I just found out that there is going to be a full length novel in the same series as A Dead Djinn in Cairo and The Haunting of Tram Car 015 - [book:A Master of Djinn..."ooh, thanks for this.
Yeah, it's now on my Kindle, but I haven't eaten anything all day (it's 6PM) and I had planned on doing other stuff tonight and tomorrow. Maybe I can wait just one more day and read it on Sunday.
Taz Muir has a queer "cyberpunk novella trilogy about a gunslinger pulled out of retirement" coming up? What? OK then, welcome to my TBR. First one is called Go Marching In.https://twitter.com/TorDotComPub/stat...
What can you tell us about Go Marching In?
I love two things in this hot and terrible world. One, I love cyberpunk. I always have. And I love cowboy films. I think that cyberpunk, at its heart, is using all of these Old West tropes. I wanted to write my own gunslinger story, but because I never get off my bullsh*t, [I'm writing] lesbian cyberpunk under the sea.
It’s weird thinking that I’m going to head back into dystopia. Cyberpunk is always about a future that’s not going to be here for much longer. Punk is always about, here’s the worst-case scenario, let’s just roll around in it. But in a way, that’s kind of cathartic.
Is "lesbian gunslinger under the sea" the new "lesbian necromancers in space?"
Yeah, absolutely. [The book] isn't simply under the sea, it's about cyberpunk lesbian gunslingers at the end of the world. So I’ve got my heroine, who is a gunslinger retiree in her 40s who is completely done with that sh*t. Because I also love movies where they go to some guy in a cabin living out in the woods, and they’re like, “We need you back!” And he’s like, “No, all that's behind me.”
That never gets to be a woman! Almost never. So I want to do that — dash of cyberpunk, big ol’ glop of cowboy — and I’m really looking forward to writing it.

I'll settle for a bittersweet ending."
Honestly, same. I think that's the most appropriate ending for the series.
