It’s not out until August 2019 but it sounds amazing!

message 106: by Kay (new)

Kay White Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James tops my list so far.

I don't want to read many sequels, but it gave me pause that Tad Williams is returning to the setting of his Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series. It's been so long, y'know?

message 107: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1775 comments I found out recently that Erin Morgenstern (author of The Night Circus) has a book coming out later this year which has me pretty excited: The Starless Sea.

Aw! Terrific!

ETA: I take that back ... Are they out of their minds? € 18 for the eBook version! I dearly hope this is a print mistake.

message 115: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3167 comments I saw a new one lurking on NetGalley: David Mogo, Godhunter by Suyi Davies Okungbowa. Supposed to release this summer. The first words used to describe it are: Nigerian God-punk. The blurb sounds pretty cool. Sorry I can’t link to it- I’m in the app.

Thanks for sharing! That Twitter account just made my day! :D

message 123: by CBRetriever (new)

CBRetriever | 6111 comments that is funny. I wonder if there's an option to bet on which one (Rothfuss or Martin) releases their book first? Maybe in Vegas or the UK. They're on about the same schedule. This is kinda funny too:

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2717 comments Not sure I'd say "most" looking forward to, but I just found out about a new release from Tricia Levenseller - Warrior of the Wild. I really enjoyed (in a guilty pleasures kind of way) her Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen, so I look forward to trying out this new book.

Let me know what you think Colleen! I'm on the fence about that one. I like that it's "vikings inspired" not sure about the rest of it.

Sure thing. :)
I have no idea when I'll actually get around to it, but I'll try to remember to post something either here or in the 'what're you reading' thread.

Sounds good!

message 128: by Raucous (new)

Raucous | 888 comments This month's group read of Early Riser reminded me that I'm looking forward to another book from Jasper Fforde: Humans v Trolls (working title). I really enjoyed his The Last Dragonslayer Series but it's been five years since anyone last heard from beleaguered Jennifer Strange. I've been wondered just how he's going to write himself and Jennifer out the cliffhanger that ended the third book. Now that he's writing again perhaps the "hopefully late 2019 publication, or early 2020" estimate on his website works.

message 129: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments The Murderbot novel has a name (Network Effect) and a tentative pub date of May 2020. I also read somewhere recently that there's going to be a Murderbot omnibus, I think that's what they're hinting at here:

message 130: by Meredith (new)

Meredith | 1775 comments This looks very cool: Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Set in Jazz Age Mexico, the main character is sent on a quest by the Mayan god of death. Coming this summer....

message 131: by Gabi (new)

Gabi | 3441 comments I don't believe it! My pre-order for "Children of Ruin" got cancelled - cause the promised price went from € 7 to over € 14 - if it weren't Tchaikovsky I would skip the book. :( (means, I will have to switch to audiobook, cause meanwhile audible is cheaper than e-books … that's just ridiculous!)

message 132: by Leticia (new)

Leticia (leticiatoraci) I agree, I have been often hearing releases with Audible because the price goes over the top for the new hyped book in the series. And Tchaikovsky has so many other books cheaper than that, I am right now checking them out.
I can wait, since I have enough books in my TBR and enough older series to continue. Yesterday I found a whole urban fantasy series on sale at my library and spent the fortune of one euro for five books. ;-)
Sorry authors, but I'm jumping out of the expensive band wagon right now.

message 133: by Dawn F (new)

Dawn F (psychedk) | 1223 comments I gave up on the audio for Children of Time as I found the narrator too shrill and picked up the physical book on a London trip. So I’ll likely also pick up Children of Ruin when I’m in London late May.

Gabi | 3441 comments John wrote: "I would be infuriated if my preorder got canceled because they decided to raise the price. The publisher should honor the agreed upon price when you first ordered if they want to raise it for new o..."

I was infuriated! When I got the cancellation message I thought the publication date was changed ... but no ... double price.

message 135: by CBRetriever (new)

CBRetriever | 6111 comments I've had one that was cancelled but that was because of a release date change, not for a price change. I've also bought a few books on a pre-order price reduction and that price was honored.

message 136: by CBRetriever (new)

DivaDiane SM | 3676 comments John, I have yet to read Children of Time, if you care to make a Buddy Read of it? I have it on audio book and I’m at the beginning of Red Mars, ATM, but I could potentially start CoT in a few weeks. What do you say?

message 138: by Lizzie (new)

Lizzie (lizzie_bobbins) | 92 comments I am starting to get really over-excited about A Brightness Long Ago by Guy Gavriel Kay, which I think comes out pretty much the same time as Children of Ruin, which I am also excited for... I will have to read the Guy Gavriel Kay first though, or I won't be able to concentrate on anything else!

I'm planning on reading Children of Time before Children of Ruin comes out as well and would love a buddy read.

Anat (tokyoseg) | 77 comments The next installment of the Red Rising saga Dark Age is coming out this year, tho I have yet to read the 4th book, just bought it last week :)

I'm looking forward more to Cage of Souls than Child of Ruins, tbh.

message 143: by Anna (new)

Anna (vegfic) | 10434 comments Hexarchate Stories was finally available for preorder on Kindle, so naturally I immediately preordered it! I'm so excited! I've been checking for months and months, and now I can finally try and relax while waiting for it to pop up on my Kindle.

I've also preordered To Be Taught, If Fortunate, but in the UK edition, so I'll get it a month earlier.
