It’s time for our second question for our November read, “Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud.” You guys KILLED it on the first question! Your answers were beautiful and amazing and everything. (If you missed it, you can find it in our profile!)

Pixie asked me this question in Episode 7, and it was such a good one that we wanted to ask you, too. “Feminism” is such a loaded word anymore...the minute you say it, people have a reaction. So what’s your simple definition of feminism? Is it burning your bra in front of the White House? Or is it challenging the status quo through your fashion, profession, or lifestyle? Or something else entirely?

I'll add my two cents, too. For me, feminism is about fighting for policies and social structures that allow women to live any life SHE chooses. So much of women's lives is dictated by totally internalized, patriarchal structures. That's bullshit, frankly. Feminism is for ANYONE who wants to change that, no matter your race, gender, or socioeconomic status. Ultimately, for me, feminism is about the freedom to be who you want to be and have the life you want to live. --M
