Barbie | 19 comments I started Fingersmith by Sarah Waters in book form, and The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson as an audio-book. Both have a nice gloomy fall feeling and I am loving it!

Ame (ameb33) | 43 comments Currently listening to a fangirl/convention retelling of Cinderella called Geekerella, and I'm also reading the print version of Mur Lafferty's Six Wakes which is pretty darn fun. It's about 6 clones getting resurrected on a spaceship and discovering that their old clone bodies were murdered and the mindmaps and memories have all been erased, so there's no telling whodunit!

Cammy Koch (shadowbrok3r) | 4 comments I’ve been working on some J and YA graphic novels. I recently read The Boy Who Crashes to Earth (HiLo #1) and Space Dumplins. I’m currently working on All’s Faire in Middle School by Victoria Jamieson and will read Welcome to Boneville of the Bones series next. I got a little request happy while working off a “Top Graphic Novels Kids Love” list.

Now THAT sounds like a fun book!

Maggie (maggieallbee) | 36 comments I gave up on The House Girl by Tara Conklin. Couldn't connect w/one of the main characters and too many illogical and convenient plot lines.

Now listening to The Ninth Hour by Alice McDermott and it is wonderful!!! (I may be biased, since it focuses on the Irish-American-Catholic community in NYC -- I am both Irish-American and a lover of all things NYC.) Set in the early 20th century, it tells the story of a man who commits suicide and how the act reverberates through generations of his family. Beautiful writing and great character development so far.

ooooo, I will have to add that to my to-reads list! Thanks!

The author (one of my faves) normally writes general speculative fiction, so I would recommend this book for folks who don't normally read sci-fi since it's an experiment for the author too.
