Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂  | 2320 comments Georgette Heyer suppressed some of her early works, including Simon The Coldheart She must have been reasonably happy with it at the time because in 1929 she wrote Beauvallet the early editions of this work have a family tree . This is part of it;

Nick was Simon's great-great-great grandson. :D

Simon was republished after Heyer's death.

While it isn't necessary to read Simon first, Beauvallet has a lot of family history in it & I think Beauvallet makes more sense if you do read Simon first.

Opinions?

As I don't know the books are they both about the same (whole big) family?

Sandra | 31477 comments No he doesn't. But you wouldn't expect a 4th generation descendant to be mentioned.

Simon is about his early life, how be becomes a knight, and how he wins his lady. It does mention he becomes the Baron of Beauvallet.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ | 2320 comments Hi I forgot about this. I decided to leave both books as stand alone titles. :)
