Let me repeat, since above was not enough that I just really (view spoiler)[ LIKE both Ash and Jenna. I love their powers and their personalities, how fully-fleshed out they are, their backstories, all of it. I think Chima did a great job with them. I also actually really like Lila and I want to see more of her. And maybe Destin Karn... and I'm pretty sure there's something sparking there too ;)

I do think Jenna's a little nuts trying to go at it in jail, but at least she's a woman who knows what she wants.

Soooo many things can go wrong with Ash's plot to kill the king. I kept waiting for him to explain to himself how he could drink the silver and be fine but why burning it would poison the king.

One thing that has been a little weird is that Empress Celestine just sort of popped on the scene right now. I wish Chima had at least mentioned her before when she talked about the north and the mages because she kind of came out of nowhere.

Jenna's abilities are just really ... well, cool. I'm not sure how she's not a mage. Or maybe northern mages have mutated or something since the others all came south. But Ash is much stronger than most other mages too, and I'm wondering why. Another area I really want to know more about. (hide spoiler)]

Well. It's official. I need the sequel. And everything else this gal's ever written.

Still so many questions. I'm so curious about (view spoiler)[ the dragon. And honestly, the whole Flamecaster thing. Is it really the dragon? Or is he calling Jenna that? And it does appear but we need to know much more, that Jenna is a dragon herself. At least some of the time.

It also appears Strangward is not an emissary of the queen but there doing his own thing, which I wasn't expecting either. (hide spoiler)]

excellent :D If I didn't have commitments to 19387298475 BRs right now I'd say pff to all of my other books and just go live in this series until I was done, but :/
