The Inexplicable Logic of My Life - Benjamin Alire Saenz

I have been meaning to read this for a while - correction - not a sequel to, but by the author of my huge favorite Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (I was confused by the similarity of the covers - the sequel is supposedly still in the works.) - it is now a nominee in the Goodreads Choice Awards, and I want to read it so I can vote on it. Although the voting in the first round ends in 4 days, I hope that it will make it to the second round.

I read it a few months back, and am happy to talk about it. I actually liked it better than Aristotle and Dante, which might not be the norm, but was the case for me. :)

You're not alone on that line of thought; I thought it was better as well. But...I might have some bias because of a spoiler-related life-parallel that happened the summer before I read it.

Really enjoying it so far, although it hasn't grabbed my heart quite as hard as Ari and Dante. I love the extended family and family-we-make aspect to it.

That's what I liked best about it. It was all about connections, and how those connections play out throughout our lives.

For me, the family-we-make ideas in the book hit so close to home. I loved seeing it on paper, and with characters that I thought were really dynamic.

I finished this - really enjoyed it, but didn't love it as much as Ari and Dante. I did enjoy the realism of it, the extended family aspect, and the way Sal and his father are becoming more distinct individuals to each other, as they respond to stress and changes in their lives. I really loved the grandmother.

Also not as much as Ari and Dante but I'm loving the book so far.
Sáenz has such a beautiful writing style that feels like it's squeezing my heart and I get very emosh.
Oh and I love all this WFTD stuff!
