I am a Google Docs neophyte, but I THINK you can open the sheet and then save it to your "drive" (under the File menu)

File, then "Make A Copy," save to your drive. Then it should be on your drive and you can make any edits to it that you want to.

I made a copy of your spreadsheet but when I took out the writing where you had put how to make a copy, I got a big box and I can't figure out how to put the rows back in it. I'm spreadsheet impaired.

Thanks Elizabeth!

I have a column for 'Planning to Read' which I find really helpful as I sort books into the topics, then the other column is 'Already Read' which I use to track my progress.
And I added a 'COUNTA' function so it will automatically total how many books you've read as long as you've typed in the title.

it's set in the DECADE you were born, so any book set in the 80s will work!

Thank you. Geez, fully misread that. Dolt, I am

Feel free to make a copy if you want to. It has 9 tabs, And to think it started out with just Sara's and then grew.
Books read, PopSugar, PS suggestions, Book Riot's, BR suggestions, 52 in 52, 52 Suggestions, A to Z, States.
In PopSugar, Book Riot's, and 52 in 52 there is a counter to let you know how many you have completed. Its tied to the finished column.
In Books read there are 2 counters. 1 for books read which is tied to titles, and 1 for challenges which is tied to challenge. If its not a book for a challenge leave it blank.
I did this tab beacuse I want to see how many books i end up reading. Since i'm doing more then 1 challenge I will use a book in every challenge it fits. (but only once per challenge.)

Jeanna, I had the same problem at first. If you highlight the big box there's an option in the toolbar to "unmerge cells." That will give you individual boxes back. You should also change the font size to whatever you prefer before you unmerge the cells, otherwise the font will still be 18 or whatever the box had set.

I started using some of the 2017 sheet from this guy late last year to track my spending and savings mostly. He made some nice improvements for this year. There is a TON of info you can input. It's not for the challenge, but if you know stuff you could probably add a tab for challenge. I guess? In any case, I thought some of you might like it. The link is in the description.

I used his last year. This year I modeled my spreadsheet after it but took out the columns I didn't need. I loved the summary tab and the series tracking!

Thanks for offering black/white, it was just what I needed!

Thank you, this is so helpful! Now I have a way to keep track of where I'm at in the challenge and how much is left to go (a lot at this point!).

This covers 5 or 6 people doing three challenges. Once read, books get entered into the "Book Log" tab, then selected in the Challenge tabs.

That looks fun! Do you randomly choose each square like real bingo? Do you give yourself a prize each time you get "bingo"? Did you read "alliteration" first so you could make it 49 squares?

This is my first time ever to try a reading challenge. I've started late (in May) but I'm super excited anyway.
Thanks to everybody for sharing their brilliant ideas for tracking their challenge progress.

Thanks so much for sharing your multi-tab Excel file @Kasey. <3
I've spent so much time fiddling around with this spreadsheet (mostly deciding on books to read) that I might have been able to read a couple of books in that time, lol!

Hi Vernice, I love your spreadsheets! I'm trying to use it with a few edits, do you have any tips for the 'Monthly Summary' section (Ie number of books read each month, and pages read each month) on how to used a formula to work this out? I'm really struggling with getting them to work.

yes that's what I do, and then I run through and check all the categories each book could fill. I find it interesting at the end of the year to see which categories I checked over and over again, and which I only read ONE book for.
I track a few other stats that I find interesting, too.
I do all my spreadsheets in Excel though. My computer does not play nicely with Google Sheets, so I rarely use that, so ... I can't share.
