(view spoiler)[I love the concept of this book. A book about video games? I'm sold. Where I ended last night all I've really read about is Halliday. Which has me totally intrigued. He was an interesting man.

I met his bitch aunt and her stupid boyfriend. And I met his virtual bestie. Whom I like a lot already. The bickering between them is funny. :D

I found out what the main character looks like. I wasn't expecting him to categorize himself as "overweight". Mostly because the edition I bought has him on the cover climbing the Stacks and he doesn't look overweight on the cover. So that was surprising.

I look for and find easter eggs in video games I play myself. So this book is a wonderful read for me. I'm loving it so far and nothing has really happened yet. Lol. :D (hide spoiler)]

Yes, I love the parts about Halliday, if I remember correctly, there are coming a few more. He seems like a super geeky guy, which I love... It remindes me kind of Steve Jobs/Bill Gates, at least that's how I imagined him. xD

I read the kindle version, so I never really looked at the cover before reading. For me it seemed obviouse that he should be a bit overweight.... All he does is game/attend school in a virtual world. He would have to have a really good metabolism to stay thin.

Also: I had a really hard time imagining the trailer park-skyscrapers before looking at the cover... It seemed so weird to me. Ö.ö
But I liked his religous neighbour. xD She goes to a virtual world to pray??? So weird.

I don't know where I would go first, when this kind of game really existed. You?

But the "guidelines" for deciding if someone is overweight (at least in the US) is all bullshit to me. Because according to those "guidelines" I would be considered overweight. And I am definitely not. Lol.

Yeeees, shopping, but you would need money for that in the first place. Everything seems to be really expensive. I think Wade mentions that he needed all the money he got from leveling to teleport back to his school "planet". Unless you have money in the first place, you are kind of limited. How unfair. :o

I guess, it's easier to make money when you are a higher lvl (like in any other mmorpg) with selling loot and so on... but still.... You have to get there in the first place.
And if you don't want the help of other people like Wade does... that could take ages.

Did he mention his weight? I mean numbers?
What are your guidelines? Other than the BMI?

(view spoiler)[I agree! If you want to do things on your own like leveling and doing what it takes to level it'll be hard without money. Like Wade. I feel like I don't know what I'd do in his position. Because he really can't do anything. Without asking for help. So I don't know what I'd do.

But if I had the money originally without having to work for it I'd definitely go shopping first. Lol.

In America body standards are sooo eff-ed up. there have been charts done that show what you're body weight should be at depending on how tall you are. I am only 5'2. So it says that I should be around 120 lbs. Which I am definitely not. But I wouldn't consider myself overweight.

There wasn't an actual weight said for Wade. So I don't know if by my own standards that i'd consider him overweight. But just looking at the cover picture, he doesn't look overweight to me. (hide spoiler)]
