Ana I think his best book is "A House for Mr. Biswas". It is so full of popular wisdom and goodness...

Lectrice A Bend in the River is the only one I've read as well. It was years ago but it's a very disturbing and compelling novel; I do remember that. I've always heard that a House for Mr. Biswas was a wonderful novel FWIW.
