So...apparently my middle-aged self can't climb like I used to. It's looking highly unlikely that I will plant that flag on Olympus in 2017 and I'm coming back down to Earth in 2018 and setting a goal of 100 books again. If I make it, I'll pack the spaceship for another run up the Martian peak...

If you'd like to join me on the trek up Mount Everest, just open a new topic and name your climb. See you in 2018!

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) (knyttwytch) Maybe this year you will climb further than you thought :D Good luck with the reading journey!

I sure hope so...but I'm slowing down this last quarter and it's looking doubtful.

Thanks!

thanks, Natália. I'm still hoping to make Olympus in 2017--but I'm gonna have to sprint the rest of the way....and I'm getting tired way up here. :-)

I was just discussing Fred Vargas elsewhere - I will have to move her The Chalk Circle Man higher in my TBR.

And congrats on topping Mt. Blanc!

Yes, The Chalk Circle Man was really good. She does have some interesting writing quirks, but once you're used to them her books are quite absorbing.
