What Are You Currently Reading?

Okay, so this discussion is what you are currently reading, a quick synopsis and what you think of it so far, whether you would recommend it or not.

I am currently reading Mosquitoland by David Arnold. It is about a girl named Mim and her dad moved her to Mississippi, and when she finds some letters between her stepmom and her real mom in Ohio, she discovers her mom has some mysterious disease. So Mim embarks on a journey to Ohio, leaving Mississippi behind to save her mom. It is really good so far. I would recommend it to someone who is looking for something to read. It is about 200-300 pages, so not super long but also not too short.

I am also reading Before I Fall by Megan (Meghan?) Oliver. It is about a girl named Samantha Kingston and she is one of those mean, popular-type girls who gets a lot of love letters on Valentines Day, etc. She dies on February 12, which was supposed to be the greatest day of her life. But she wakes up and remembers the night before, which she died, but it is the same day she died. She must relive the day she died seven times until she fixes her mistakes and unravels the truth about her death.
So far, it is good, and I'm sorry the synopsis is kinda confusing, you just gotta read it. It makes a lot more sense if you just read it. :)

I am currently reading:

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. It is about a girl named Maddy who is allergic to everything, so she never leaves her house. But when a boy named Olly moves in next door, she knows she can't fall in love with him, but what if she does?

The Last of August by Brittany Cavallaro. It is the second book in the Charlotte Holmes series.

We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach. Everything and everyone is given two months to live when an asteroid comes into Earth's orbit and has a 66.67% chance of destroying all life on Earth.

Hi! I am still reading We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach, and it's really good so far. I am a little more than halfway done. I would recommend it to ages 13+.

Hi! My name is Brianna, I'm 13, and I'm currently reading "City of Bones", the first Mortal Instruments book by Cassandra Claire. I have also read "Everything, Everything". I have a group of my own called Teen Reads if you're interested in joining. It has 7 or 8 members now and we're discussing "The Sun is Also a Star" for the month of December.

Hello! I am currently reading "They Both Die at the End" It's about two people who receive their calls from Death-Cast, which is the company that makes phone calls at midnight to people who will die sometime in the following day. It's such an interesting concept. I've only read a few pages so far, so can't really give my opinion as of right now.

I’m currently reading “The Beginning of Everything” by Robyn Schneider and it’s about this guy who goes from jock to well not and he kind of realizes what he was and how he now can’t hide behind who he was because well he’s lost his athletic ability and has to discover who he is and what he wants to do with his life.

Hey! It's great to see people commenting! To be honest, I was thinking that this was a bit of a fail since no one commented, but I'm thrilled!

I'm currently reading A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (because I am excited to see the movie) and it's great so far! It's about a girl named Meg and her father is missing, and it all has to do with a mysterious thing called a tesseract. I'm only about 40 pages in, but it's amazing and I would definitely recommend it. :)

It does! It's a pretty quick read, with about 180 pages. I'm on page 90-something, I think (I've been pretty busy).

I just started Cinder yesterday and like all the members of my group are reading it. We didn't even plan it but it looks like that is going to be our next discussion!

I'm reading Freak the Mighty for school and its really good so far. Its about a boy named Max with a mysterious past and another boy named Kevin aka Freak and together, they're Freak the Mighty, 9 feet tall!

Has anyone read it?

No, I haven't. It sounds interesting. What grade are you in? I'm in 7th, but I'm homeschooled so I do stuff above my level.

my English class is an honors class which is like above grade level so I'm not sure what grade it would be counted as

Ok. I'm taking a ninth grade online English class through All-In-One High School and I just finished reading "A Pilgrim's Progress" for it.

I'm starting "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment" in January for my Goodreads group.

For the holidays, I got Auggie and Me: Three Wonder Stories which is a companion novel to the book Wonder by RJ Palacio. They're both great books!

I started reading Scarlet, the second book in the Lunar Chronicals. I also got Paper Towns from Barnes and Noble the other day but I haven't started it yet.

So I'm still reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner, and I'm about 100 pages in. Its about a boy named Thomas who wakes up in a place called The Glade and he feels like he's been there before even though all his memories are gone. There is a maze surrounding the Glade and Thomas has the urge to be a thing called a Runner, who goes out in the Maze. Anyway it is really good so far. :)

I started reading it a while ago but never finished. I just finished Expelled by James Patterson and I'm starting Turtles all the Way Down.

So I finished The Maze Runner and I'm working on The Scorch Trials. After I finish the series, the Divergent is next on the agenda.

Divergent is great! I read the first book and I'm starting the second soon with my friend as a buddy read.

I've been working on finishing "This is Not the End" by Chandler Baker. It's set in the future where everything is basically the same except resurrection technology now exists so on your 18th birthday, you are allowed to resurrect one person. It's such an interesting concept and the problem the main is having is just AHHH!

So, I'm finding the Scorch Trials a little slow right now, so I'm going to take a break from that one for a little bit. Instead I am reading I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. It's about a boy named Number Four who is from a distant planet Lorien and there are these creatures called Mogadorians and they are trying to kill the nine Garde that escaped from Lorien. Number Four has to constantly move from place to place and there are already three dead, which means Number Four is next. Every time he moves he has to change his name and currently his name is John Smith but before it was like Daniel or something. It is interesting and confusing at the same time!

There are pretty short chapters and I do recommend it so far.

I started Insurgent so maybe I can beat my cousin in finishing the series. He just started Divergent. It has a bit of a slow start so far, but It's good.

I'm reading The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. It's about sixteen year old Starr Carter and how she has to overcome the trauma of her old friend Khalil being shot by the police. It's really good so far.

I'm reading I Am Number Four right now! I'm rereading the series :D

It's an awesome series! I only wish there were movies to go along with it. There is an I Am Number Four movie, but it's very short and very inaccurate.

I'm on page 273 of I Am Number Four and I can admit that it is an awesome series!

Hiya! I'm not actually currently reading anything (sad, i know) but I just finished A Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue and lemme tell ya it was soooooo good!

I'm currently writing a book right now! I'm submitting it to the YEA writing program. My book is about six teenagers who wake up in a laboratory with no memories of their parents or homes. The teens are gifted with powers such as one being part wolf. The main character, Zero, struggles to remember her past while also embarking on a journey to find her home.
My book doesn't have a name yet.

It sounds cool. I'm having a hard time starting Insurgent right now, so I'm taking a break of it.

The next book I want to read is Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow so I'm going to try to start that today or tomorrow.

I'm close to finishing I Am Number Four. I wish I were done with it by now, but school + track takes up all my time.

You do track? That's cool! I'm a dancer.

I did track in the fall but I fractured an ankle running (running! of all things) and I haven't really practiced due to school and stuff but I am definitely going to do it again in the fall after I practice. :)

I am reading Turtles All the Way Down by John Green and it's really good so far!

Sorry about your ankle. I'm currently reading "Cress" by Marissa Meyer and it is book three in the Lunar Chronicles. It's a futuristic retelling of Rapunzel. I'm also going to start "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan soon.

The Lost Hero is a great book! The whole series is great. (My favorites are The Son of Neptune and The House of Hades.)

I made a lot of progress with Turtles All The Way Down and I love it so far!

Reading The Fall of Five now! I want to finish it in a couple of days. I should really start setting aside time just to read.

Hey! So I'm reading Cress and I recently picked up Insurgent again. It was very slow in the beginning but Insurgent has picked up the pace a bit and I want to see my cousin on Peace Serum because he is a jerk but he would be like rainbows and unicorns happy on Peace Serum, so yeah!!!!!!

I'm reading How to Fall by Jane Casey, and its really interesting so far! Its a mystery about a girl named Jess and her cousin Freya died recently but no one can seem to agree on how she died, which makes its super suspicious.
