Actually, the chapters weren't bad, and I read the first 3. What a strange start! (view spoiler)[ So these people are trapped by the town and can't leave, and they have a strange lady whose eyes and mouth are sewn shut who runs around the town at random. Crazy!! (hide spoiler)]

No. I didn’t get it. But I did get the book. It was free I think.

Finally read the first chapter. Wow! This is really a weird start. I can’t imagine having some freaky old woman standing in my living room! And also it seems like the town might have some interesting set of rules about this witch. I’ll try to read a few more when I get home.

Not really. I wasn't sure if they were watching for the old lady, or watching to see if strangers were coming in, or what. Curious!

I read the next 3 chapters today, so I'm up to ch7. Very bizarre start! (view spoiler)[ I wasn't expecting the witch to be so evil, but it sure sounds so with the story in chapter 6. Kinda cool that the military, and even the presidents at one time, were familiar with this, but don't know what to do. (hide spoiler)] I have no idea where this is going yet.

As an aside, I have actually visited the area in New York close to where this is set. My sister used to live up there and my brother-in-law worked at Westpoint. They lived in Newburgh, which they keep mentioning as close by. Kinda cool!

Yes I agree. It was a very slow, strange opening. Not alot of explanation. Just kind of throw you in and hope you can swim.

The ending to ch6 was pretty great too...lol. I don’t know how I wud react? I was definitely engrossed in the storytelling but wud I be in real life? It wud be pretty creepy!

Just got to ch10. (view spoiler)[ So, i was expecting that Mike kid at the end of ch9 to go berserk when Tyler had him listen to the whispering of the witch. Wonder why it didn't affect him? Man why would Tyler risk having him listen like that? What would a Tyler have done if Mike did do something? (hide spoiler)]

So, this has the feel of a movie screenplay so far, to me at least.

Well, it feels as much like I'm watching a movie as reading a book to me. Not that it's bad, just the visuals in my mind I guess.

Ahhh, I'm sorry you're still feeling bad. ☹️ Need to get you on the mend!! I've not read any farther. It was my youngest son's birthday this weekend, friends party yesterday and family today, so very little reading. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Oh, and we just got Netflix (finally) and are watching Stranger Things for the first time. Getting hooked on it, lol.

Definitely! Also 1922 is a new release on Netflix. It’s a Stephen King adaptation. It’s on my radar but haven’t gotten to it yet.

If we keep doing 2-3 chapters a day when do u think we'll be done? I'm trying to think what book I'll take on my trip at the end of the month.

I️ made it to ch16 late last night. Wow!(view spoiler)[so we kind of knew the dog wouldn’t make it, but the water turning red was a surprise. I️ was really hoping that Tyler wud have said something, but of course, it makes for a great story if he doesn’t. And what a weird sacrifice for that lady to give the witch...a peacock? And I️ wonder who gave the witch a heart? Maybe Jaydon? Questions abound! (hide spoiler)]
