Bean transplanting was done over the weekend and some nasty piece of works has started eating the leaves already. Must put 10' fence around each shoot.
It'll do you good, lad. I've been for one. I got stopped to chat by three people on the way home. You can walk in a village but you can't make proper progress, as the driving instructors say.
Hi, can anybody help? I can't post this anywhere else because it wants a book title. In my workplace, a gentleman has been recommended a book to me for the last few years yet he can't remember the name if it!
We gone through a lot of the kindle store and spent a lot of time on Google and haven't got anywhere so I thought I'd try here to see if it rang any bells to anybody.
It was about a red haired boy on a ship that was importing things to another country, I think his family may have worked on the ship, and then he was kidnapped/held hostage.
Its not much to go by, I know, when I next see him I shall get some more clues.
Morning alls. Woke up at three this morning, read for a while then went down to the beach to photograph the sunrise. First day for ages it had a lie-in!! Well ....... couldn't see it because of the cloud, sunny now though!!
Morning all, from lovely Cleveleys. My head is well and truly still full of writing, and completing my first 2 self-published books for Amazon Kindle. I will have a lot more time now to focus on some great blogging content. Its so sunny here today - my Husband and I went for a lovely breakfast once we had dropped off our Daughter at school.
Does anyone else struggle to write when its sunny? I certainly feel like I am becoming a night owl. I tend to do all of my writing of an evening - in the dark of night.
Have a nice day everyone.

Morning, well, afternoon all. Having ideas about Space Dustmen today so thinking I might start looking at a bit of plotting. Still slightly struggling over which way round to have the two main characters. One is floating in a pod in space and is an admiral from a space fleet which was wiped out millions of years before. One is a kind of scavenger. I think I'll start a few world building notes, the more their surroundings come into focus the clearer I'll be. Also I can sit outside in the sun and do that.
Cheers

So last night, I decided to dash to my friends straight from work to wash up, and the cattery lady was knocking on her neighbours door to drop the cat off, so I took him in, which confused her neighbour who was expecting him!! Between us we got both cats sorted and the washing up done, was an amusing end to the catsitting, and her neighbour is lovely. Got home and my neighbour wasn’t in, rang to see where she was, and her lodger had stormed out, so she was driving round to find him, so I chucked some food at the cats and helped – walked round the park first, then got back in the car driving round. We both went home, she rang her manager, she went back out and I stayed back in case he came home. Decided to set up my new Echo dot while waiting, had a nightmare with it, and glad I decided to swap them, the new one constantly flashes, the first one didn’t, would have been no good for the bedroom. Did manage to get it to switch the sonos on this morning though, and it will be a good alarm!! Sat outside for 20 mins and arms look a bit red!!

Got here safe and all well. It was really foggy for an hour or two travelling this morning, his lordship continued in his happy state. He didn’t adjust his phone clock for being in France so it didn’t wake him up on time. He was out if sorts all day, I slept most of the day so that didn’t please him either 😀
Glad you arrived safe n sound Lynne. Now have a relaxing holiday!
It's really starting to hot up here. Back to living with the a/c on.
It’s not sunny here yet. I’m up early probably because I slept most of yesterday. Every time we go away somebody throws a spanner in the works. Daughter has just had big dental surgery and may need hospitalisation if it gets infected and the remains of the roots out as they are too near her sinuses for the dentist to get them out safely. With OH, if I thought it was just plain nastiness I’d walk, but I fear it’s a case of in sickness and in health and all that so I can’t. I did niaively let the vicar leave in ‘obey’ but I had my fingers crossed for that part - so sod that for a game of soldiers! It’s worse when he’s tired so I’m making allowances as that drive is very long and tiring. If he’s still acting up next week watch out for sparks.
Hope your daughter has no complications!Sounds like you've traded one naughty child for another.
I'd take my kindle and go spend the day at a nice outdoor cafe patio, if I were you. Or at least till he gets face straight.
Morning! Cooler today. I'm off out for lunch with the ladies of the village - well, some of them. Had a lovely walk with the natural history lot last night, through glades of wild garlic. Made me hungry!
Morning. Wild Garlic makes me hungry too Kath. We're lucky though - we've got lots in the garden and up the drive as well as around the village.Had some yesterday, including the flowers in a ham risotto. Next scheduled use will be with 'Barcelona breakfast' on Saturday and Sunday. Rub peeled garlic (ordinary) on toast, squish and rub ripe tomatoes on toast next, sprinkle with salt, drizzle with good olive oil, then liberally sprinkle chopped wild garlic followed by 5 or 6 flowers on each piece of toast!
It just stays whole. Not had any problems with it breaking up. Now we use home made soda bread and sourdough but have used ordinary white bread when nothing more luxurious is available! No problemo. I suppose the slices are quite small though which might help.
I guess that might a tad thin for the rubbing! Maybe not though if you rub and squish gently!! Could be worth a try Patti.
The melba toast here and in Greece and Turkey is much thicker.Suppose there it might be called rusk?
Had a lovely, if random, home visit last night!! She does handmade jewellery, so of course I was attracted to that, she let me try things on, so I bought a ring and a bracelet (will post a pic later), and she said she was trying to set up at craft fairs, as her friends have been very positive, so I spoke to one of our volunteers as we were looking for a handmade jewellery person for our fun day, turns out we haven’t found one, so passed details on to her for booking it, and if it goes well, she will book a stall at our Christmas Fair too! Apart from my neighbour not liking my ring, the other friends I’ve shown pics too have liked them, so told her that too. So not just a good home for a cat, but hopefully some business for her too. Cool and windy here, was trying to rain when I got up. Quiet day today, and hopefully just my prescription to pick up tonight. Woke up early, so had a lovely cuddle with LucyYou are too good to him Lynne!! Glad you arrived safely though, hope daughter will be OK.

Had a good whiff of skunk cabbage at Harlow Carr garens a few years back, Patti. Not as enticing!Garlic butter... hmmm...
That sounds beneficial to all involved, Desley - not just the cat!
Dave has gone out for curry with his mates, so I had four mint club biscuits for my dinner.I disgust me.
That's brilliant, Jim! I purposely eat things now to try and put Nathan off the taste. So far it isn't working. Maybe I should try vast quantities of wild garlic.
It's such a lovely sunny day today, I'm tempted to abandon ship and head home early

I bought a large bar of chocolate when my husband was out for the evening and I ate the lot. I also disgust me. I actually bought two (they were going cheap) and I've hidden the other one and I can't find it. It'll turn up though...
Disgusting! Wahay!

Good trip Alicia. Hope you find a good place.
Morning all, got my appointment at the Bio Mechanics section at 1, unfortunately I have a deadline at 3. Sun is shining. Turns out the flashing light on the dot is because it isn't set up properly.Safe trip Alicia, good luck finding a place.
Good morningI was looking at the dot Desley. You will have to let me know how you find it
Another nice morning - but I will be in the cold office. I might go out at lunchtime to buy sarsaparilla cordial.
Goodreads have introduced a new series display which is not proving popular you can see it if you are in the feedback group. It is misleading because the announcement suggests that it is for the mobile version only. If you use the series lists regularly you might want to take a look.
It's actually my second dot Janet, I tend to just use it as an alarm and to play music, radio signal is rubbish here,
Morning all, sun is shining yet again and I already have a Ridiculous Sandal Tan courtesy of beach hut studio.Elder daughter is to be a knitting academic after her abstract was accepted for an international knitting conference and now she has to present a 20 minute paper :) Who knew there were such things?
My bit on the telly will be on next week. The kids did brilliantly.
Good luck with your search Alicia.
