Glad you fixed the cat flap MT. Poor Lucy has spent most of the afternoon in bed, can't cope with the neighbours cats! We got a few bits this morning to have a bbq, and barely done any housework other than lots of washing! Read a lot in the sun, had to cancel my friend, traffic was bad and it was too hot to have the dog in the car -took my neighbour an hour to do the last 3 miles of her errand! Hope your headache shifts Patti.
The fog came down so thick last night but has burned off already. I can’t say it was hot here yesterday. It was beautiful but there was an edge to the breeze so it was pleasant. I can see a thick bank of fog further west though and early the foghorn. Hope everyone has a good day.We had a fox in the garden, i wouldn’t have seen it but the dogs did as I let them out. It was mayhem. My old Dobe picked it up and actually threw it onto the lawn. It got up and cleared a 4 foot plus hedge in one bound, right into next door’s garden where they had a Rottweiler. It wasn’t Mr Fox’s best day. A few days later we were talking to a friend down the road and he said he’d seen it racing down the road he never thought foxes could run so fast.
Better a fox than a skunk. Thanks Jim. Not as bad as it was.
I had Dave cut about four inches off my hair this morning, in hopes less weight on my scalp will help.
Morning everyone. The mist is clearing and we have a high of 16 degrees forecast here - our neighbours are having a barbecue on the strength of this. Erring on the side of caution, we may open the french windows...
Jersey has its summery outfit on. Yeah. Had a friend round last night and we ate in the garden. Well, we had the starter in the garden and then the sun put its overcoat on so we decamped inside for the main course. Off to visit friends later for a cuppa and to see their new house. Then I better get back on the laptop. We have a bank holiday on Wednesday as well as the one tomorrow. May 9th is Liberation Day. The weather is meant to stay nice. Fingers crossed.
Good morning all. It's a bright sunny day out there. We're waiting for a puff of black or white smoke from the teenager's bedroom to tell us whether he is available for a family trip somewhere or one of his friends is online and they'd rather shoot aliens together than be with boring old parents. We've tried the usual bribe of dead cow meat in bread. Don't know yet if it'll work.
Morning, didn't want to get up today, despite the weather - got up at 8 to medicate Lucy, went back to bed and had to convince Lucy to get up at 10.30. Got a really bad sore throat. Really need to do some housework and some charity admin, we have blue sky but not too bright yet. Interesting remedy for a headache Patti!!
Afternoon all. Had a super lazy Sunday morning playing around the house with Dexter. Then we took a family stroll round our new village, found a nice small woodland to explore.
Now out in the garden doing some digging and planting a raspberry bush and a Goji Berry bush in my new veggie/fruit garden! i'm so excited!
Hope your head is feeling better Patti
Much better this morning in spite of only three hours sleep.8/9 year olds today. I'm sure they'll keep me awake.
Morning all, sun is shining!! Just watching an interesting article about gender fluidity, not sure I can grasp that. Need to do some housework while it is cool, and food shopping as soon as they open. Cat-sitting for a week too. Impressed you can feel better after so little sleep Patti.
Morning. Yesterday was mainly a visit to the younger element. Played on the beach with the grandson! What larks.Today - mostly work in the garden, I think.
Right - I should be gardening, editing or writing but I will be mostly - reading and lounging.Hope your headache is gone now Patti, and that the 3 hours sleep doesn't mess with your day.
Okay - hate to complain but .... it may actually be too hot for me today!
Good morning. Just been to the garden centre and now it's time to put the plants in the ground. And it's hot out there!
Been digging and adding home-made compost to the greenhouse borders. So hot I had to keep popping out to cool down!
Hot shit, Kath? Not quite sure how I made it through the day. The afternoon is now a bit of a blur.
Not scheduled to work tomorrow and Wednesday is a public holiday. Thank gawd. Two days to recover.
I may spend them in bed.

But you did! Rest well.
Back in work today on days, nice to see the sun again properly! Was starting to feel a little vampiric with all those nights. Went to the Newcastle Noir crime festival for one of the panels, really interesting, think I'll be booking that weekend off next year! And I've discovered a huge library that I never knew existed which will be my go to place for essays and writing when I need out of the house I think. I was in heaven!!
Patti - I reckon sleep is overrated. We worry about being able to function on the day after a broken night, but somehow we always manage. I've read a lot of books about sleep. The consensus of opinion from blokes and blokesses in white coats is that we shouldn't worry about a bad night's sleep. Often we can keep ourselves awake worrying about the effect that the bad night will have on us.
You'll probably sleep very well tonight. Probably.
Another tough day reading in the sun, even with the breeze I had to come in a few times to cool down! Sounds a good choice Kelly. Ooh, Noir festival sounds good Claire. That's an interesting logic Will

Which panel did you see, Claire? A friend of mine, Gail Williams, was on one of them. She enjoyed the con too.
K managed to get sunburned on Sunday. in Wales! This may be a record.
Morning all. Another lovely day, but I'm stuck in a stuffy office.Hope you feel better, Patti.

Not the Lit and Phil near Central Station, by any chance?
Anna Faversham wrote: "I'm attempting to put my books into paperback - I'm just going to my desk, I may be some time."That's your morning spoken for, then.
First interruption took 25 minutes before I even got started so, Will, I've booked out the rest of the day. I shouldn't be here, should I?
Morning everyone.Woke ravenous at 4.00am, had first breakfast, went back to bed. Just had second breakfast. I think the hunger must be an after effect of the effort I put into tidying up in the garden all day yesterday!
Sounds as though you had a stress headache with everything that's going on, Patti?
Morning.Back at work after a lovely weekend off. We spent most of it in the garden, we probably should have gone out somewhere but we didn't. Sunday we were at my SIL's so the kids all got to play together.
I'm now furiously trying to remember my NI number so I can register on the agencies website and send in my time sheets. If I don't get it done today I won't get paid until next Friday :o(
Morning alls. The Triffid is still growing - now at around 4 metres! Never seen the like, wonder where it will stop. Eat you heart out Lost Gardens of Heligan. https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...
Elizabeth, I expect you're correct and that it won't be the last in the next few months. But I've been asked to teach English to teenagers on Friday, so that's alright.
Will wrote: ".Which panel did you see, Claire? A friend of mine, Gail Williams, was on one of them. It was the only one I could make this year but I'm already planning to go to the next one!

Go, Anna! Paperbacks!

It's quite well-hidden in that cluster by the station, and they don't exactly advertise it much!
Incredible place.
Good luck Anna. I've also just set up an Amazon Smile account for PAWS, the charity I volunteer for so if anyone would like to support us, please do sign up. I am just attempting to get the details onto our website.
Jud wrote: "That is really quite impressive L.A."Thanks Jud. We're finding it amazing, not happened before - we planted the Allo Vera as a 6 inch baby around 12 years ago and the main plant is now over 2 metres! The'flower' (if that's what it is!) Is growing at more than 1 foot per week now and is currently standing at around 4 metres!!
