Chemists sounds good. Thanks :)
Well, it was too nice to stay in doing housework, typically I got fed up of keep coming in when it got too cloudy at 5 and it has been fairly cloudless since!

How are you feeling?"
Hanging on in there. Not at my perkiest!
Good evening. I have been busy in the sun today, trying to figure out why one of the waterfalls isn't working. Still none the wiser. I also did some editing. Now it's time for a shot of Glenlivet... Lovely!
Will wrote: "Patti (baconater) wrote: "Will wrote: "Hanging on in there. Not at my perkiest!"It is a slow process to recover. Your body still doesn't believe what it went through. That will come. Even if you don't believe it.
I've written close to 3k in two days ... plus a very long blog post. https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2018/04/21/rant/
Will. Take it slowly and I hope you feel better soon. I'm not sure if the sun makes it better or worse.
We took the dogs a walk this afternoon, there’s a bandstand on our road facing the sea and it’s a good place for photos. I saw a bride and groom just returning to a chauffeur driven car. The groom was in a black uniform and very smart, also very young looking, the bride had a long dress, veil and bouquet. When they got to the car the groom got in the back of the car near the pavement, leaving his bride to walk into the road to get in the other side. The chauffeur never moved from his comfy seat, no one opened her door or helped her in the car. I was really shocked.
Will, I hope you'll start percolating at your normal rate again soon. Take it at a steady pace and I'm sure you'll be back to your normal cheeky self.Other Will, any house news?
What'd you need the alcohol for, GL? Depending, vodka might work just as well.
I'm of two minds about your anecdote, Lynne.
On the one hand, I'm sure the bride was more than capable of getting herself into the car on her own but you'd also expect her groom to show some solicitude on the big day. It's just caring and respectful, don't you think?
Rather overcast here this morning. An improvement from yesterday's rain.
Dave and I had a lovely, long Skype chat last evening with friends who moved to a school in India. They're very happy there.
I'm hoping we can get together for a proper visit in the not too distant future.
Wouldn't it be lovely to have all your friends within walking distance?
There is something to be said for village life, I suppose.
I've got a job interview tomorrow. Sorry, can't share details yet but I'd love your good thoughts, please.
Was sunny at 8, but now raining. Glad I sat outside yesterday and saved the housework for today. Not looking forward to the next few days, looking after 9 cats, and having to feed myself!! At least my foot isn't as sore as yesterdayYou would at least expect the chauffeur to open the door Lynne, I thought that was part of the package!! Ooh, fingers crossed Patti
Thanks, all!My lovely man put together a chick pea n chorizo stew to have later in the week. Even better, he cleaned up afterward!
Soon, I shall be inserting a shoulder of lamb into the oven. Wish I'd bought a better selection of veg to go with it...
Cross fingers for the job interview, Patti. No, there is no house news, other that I've just replaced the shower master switch and done some gardening...
I need the alcohol to clean the bath before putting down adhesive strips. Do you think ouzo would do? I'm definitely not drinking the stuff...
Eh up!Spent yesterday in lovely weather with our group from the local Natural History Society. We went to Kirkdale. Home of St Gregory's Minster, an isolated church in a wooded valley. Very mysterious. Loads of fantastic spring flowers. We hit it just right. Warm enough for shirt-sleeves but not so hot you melted
Baby steps, Will. You can't recover overnight. Be nice to yourself.

GL you can use gin to clean jewellery so I would imagine any high alcohol content would work, although I’ve drunk some dodgy booze that would take the surface off some baths. I’m still nagging about that lazy chauffeur. The black merc was lovely but he was a slob. I’ve got a special memory of our big day as a press photo was used of me getting out if the car being helped by the driver. We looked as if we were about to do a minuet, he held my bouquet up in one hand and helped me out so daintily it was very twee, almost camp. I’ll try to find it . That poor girl won’t have those sort of memories - I’m no shrinking violet when it comes to equality and all that. We had black Rolls Royce’s and the one that fetched Roger to the church once belonged to Bob Hope. It conked out and wouldn’t start and he and the best man had to help push it. :o)

I use meths for something like that. Don't expect you'd be drinking that either!
Good luck with the interview Patti
Given up on the hut today. Coldish, windy and now spitting with rain. After the corker of a day we had yesterday frankly it's a bit of a come down!
Chauffeurs ought to be opening doors for ALL their passengers if they are doing the job properly.
Thanks Nosemanny.Gotta admit I've got myself really wound up today, rehearsing answers to questions I'm expecting. Doesn't help that I've not had a formal interview in thirteen years. My last two jobs, I was hired at staff parties!
We had limos for Dave's mother's funeral. The drivers were ever so formal, as one would expect.
Dave's nephew's fiancé was at sixes and sevens over it, poor thing. She'd never experienced it before. I guided her through all the formalities of the day with gentle nudges and gestures. She took me aside later to thank me.
I told her she did very well. Dave's mother would have tutted no end, mind.
She's a sweetheart with no pretentions. I'm pleased she's joining the family.

I felt like telling him but I did think first and thought I’d better mind my own business I didn’t want to cause a row. We all have different ideas but sitting scratching his belly while the bride was in the road struggling wasn’t very professional to say the least. Good luck for the interview - don’t do a Sharon Stone :o)

we've all got to learn sometime, and she's lucky to have had you to guide her. And you're lucky to have somebody as nice as her joining the family. You'll soon have her trained up :-)
Best of look with the interview.
I've never had one, whenever anybody has wanted me to do something they've just asked me because it's me they want. (Cheap and expendable has a charm all of its own! )
Nope. rosé I’ve got a 5 litre box in the fridge and to the horror of my French friends I’ve got one who used to be a wine rep and another who collects wine - I put ice in it 😀😀😀
Back to school for the little lad today. I’ve got to get myself back in a routine. Not bad here so far I , hope it stays dry but having moaned so much about the wet weather OH has grassed an area that was just earth under shrubs and now he’s moaning he’s got to water it. It’s growing fast already.
I was offered the job, on condition they can arrange a work permit for me.Cross your fingers AND toes please, my lovelies!
Congratulations and best of luck with the work permit, Patti!Everything's still crossed. I'll keep it that way.

you're Canadian, they'll let you in purely to increase the average courtesy of their country by a measurable amount :-)
Go You!
