What a morning, really strong wind and driving rain and I had to walk this morning. I hadn’t the heart to wake OH up and ask for a lift and I was too late to ask daughter or her partner to collect me. Anyway I wasn’t as wet as I thought I’d be. I hope my little car is fixed today whatever it is. I’ll let OH sort it. He broke it. Have a good day all, we’ve got flood warnings here for tidal areas.
Ah, well. Wet and windy start to the day here. Nice to be back at work so soon after the Easter break, however, so I shan't complain too much!
We've got re-accreditation next week, so I'll be covering all over the place while teachers are in meetings. I'm expecting it to be rather hectic but hopefully fun.Another gorgeous blue sky day here.
Where's this warm weather? Lincolnshire is usually sunny but this morning is cold and damp. Oh well, more reason to stay in and do some work. I hope everyone else has a lovely day.
Thanks everyone. Feeling a bit less meh now. Think I may have made a bit of a breakthrough with the knee pain. Only time will tell but it would be marvellous if I could sort that out a bit.
Morning alls. Where is the heat wave? Spotted this the other day happening to our Alloe Vera. Seems to have just appeared!! https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...
Looks like the Aloe Vera Space Shuttle! We 'bought a new car' this morning. Well, almost. They seem to do this Print On Demand thing! We'll get it middle to end of next month. It's not built yet but has a 'build slot'. Weird!
Patti (baconater) wrote: "That's a lovely aloe plant LA.I've not seen one in flower outside of Africa." It'll be interesting to see the actual flowers when they arrive (if?!) It's put on more than another foot since that pic, I'll get another one up tomorrow with a bit of luck.
Will wrote: "Morning all. Fingers crossed for your car and floods, Lynne."Hope you're feeling much more yourself, Will. I've been thinking of you. It does get better.
Alicia - that's kind. Thank you. I'm slowly getting back to normal. No more chest pains but feeling washed out and empty of energy. The official advice from the NHS is to "potter" about the house. Which is what I am doing.

Whenever Aston Martin release a new model, there is a profit to be made from putting down a deposit for a build slot and then reselling it for a premium. Friend of mine once made five grand from some rich bloke who was too impatient to wait.

Smelling salts please £440;plus a tenner for the bus. Ouch. It’s apparently one of those things that go on these cars and they keep one in stock so I was ‘lucky’ the could do it straight away. That’s nearly a months pension in perspective. I offered to pay but OH declined. I do know when to shut up,even if it’s not apparent. I made him a cake and a good dinner when he came home . Good trade that.:0)
It was so windy down at the harbour today I have sand in my ear. Just the one that was on my windward side :)
Morning all, drizzly but slightly bright, sunny and 22 promised. Hopefully an interesting meeting this afternoon
Morning alls . Lovely day in sunny Cornwall - here is the rapidly getting taller Alloe Vera !! Another week, another foot!!https://www.goodreads.com/photo/group...
Morning all, shocked to say the least that it's another lovely day up here in NE Scotland, but I'll take it :) Have a good day all
Morning. I see big aloes in France. My friend has some taller than me. They plant them as a deterrent to trespassers in their gardens. Some of the flower stems are easily 15 -20 feet tall. When they’ve flowered like that the plant usually dies. It’s quite cold here at the moment but dry.

As for the trespassers, I can well understand it, the spikes are lethal to say the least, and as for escaping from them if caught up .......

And with a magic touch of the delete button - it's gone. Bet there's a thread too...
Morning all!
Oh, missed the fun!And it's sunny here too. Forecast to get warmer as the day progresses. I think writing this morning, gardening this aft and reading this evening. Gone are the days of spending eight hours gardening, My poor old back will only take half hour sprints now!
Morning all - just about. After a miserable start, it's turned out lovely in the valley. Long may it continue. Bit of a mixed bag lesson wise, but it's giving me some time do a little writing while the kids get on with their work!

Are you volunteering as a target?
Sorry LA. Proper little Pollyanna aren’t i? Well I said it was cold, it warmed up quickly, I had to change into a thin jumper then a tee shirt as the days worn on and my car thermometer said 22°. I laughed at Grandson today, we went shopping and parked near a fire engine for him to admire. He was chattering away in the back and saying yadda yadda yadda. I thought he was being cheeky as I was telling him about the fire engine. ‘I’ll give you yadda yadda cheeky boy”. He was quite offended. He said clearly and seriously. “Grandma the fire engine has two yadders” . We were in Yidls car park.
He’s having trouble with his L’s.
If anyone is wondering about my new name, its because of this story...http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-g...
