Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Fingers crossed with your internet, Will. It's not been nice not having you chatting in the group!

Good luck on your delivery, Kath. My funeral shoes were delivered by Hermes. Gotta say I was worried when I saw who the courier was, but they came next day as promised.

I made a fabulous pot roast dinner tonight. All suitcase food.

Was hoping to get two nights out of it but no chance. Not too disappointed, though. We've been invited out for dinner tomorrow night. And a brunch on Wednesday as its a non-working day. Presidential elections.
I wonder who'll win...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Probably that guy in Turkey!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm sure Putin will have no involvement in this one, anyway.

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I got yet another Hermes message saying they apologised for having to change my delivery slot from 12-4 to 2-6. It came at ten past three. Strewth! Anyway, it came. 5kg of toy stuffing is a lot!

it is rather!

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I've used just shy of 1kg in the past few weeks. I'll soon go. According to someone answering a query on Amazon, as soon as you open the bale it leaps out and doubles in volume. Bit scared now!

my daughter is an upholsterer and some of their stuff does that :-)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Internet up, central heating down. Boiler engineer reckons we have a leak in system somewhere that's draining into the foundations from pipes hidden under the flooring...

Next up, a probably fiendishly expensive plumber

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments What are you making Kath?

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Talking about Hermes, they delivered me a parcel today - unfortunately its not mine! So tomorrow I will deliver it to the right place!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ooooo, lie in! Until 6:30!

But as my body is still on uk time, not really that exciting...

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Urgh, was up from 3 till at least 5, then Lucy woke me up at 6.30. Raining here, admin day again

message 4014: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Raining here as well! And the puppy is in an especially hyper mood.

message 4015: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Raining in sunny East Yorkshire too. Gets me out of a garden job. No excuse for the state of the house. Better get a wriggle on.

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments Morning all. Had an eventful few days. Possible connected to the heart attack I had on Thursday followed by four days in hospital.

Recovering at home now. Feeling as weak as a kitten.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Bloody hell Will. Sending all best wishes for a rapid recovery xx

message 4020: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Blimey, Will. Take care and do as the nice nurses tell you. I'm sure you'll be fine. My husband had one thirteen years ago. Still fighting fit (but a bit creakier in the joints).

Criminy, Will!

Don't do anything like that again!

Hope you and the lady wife and BBITW are recovering well.

Must have scared them spitless!

Wow! Glad you are on the mend, Will. Take care. x

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments That sounds scary Will, glad you are recovering. Happy anniversary Jim. Thought I had a boring admin day, got asked to sit in with the consultant who does our CRM back end stuff for 10 mins, came out after 2.5 hours after learning lots of easier ways to do things!! Very happy

It was an awful and scary time, but they don't let you go home unless you're expected to survive. Will be pulling for you. Hope you can tolerate doctors' orders. When they get you up to it, do your rehab exercises. It really makes you feel like you're taking charge again.

thanks All

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Sorry to hear that Will, get well soon. Congratulations to the anniversaries. I’ve just woken up from a nap but as I was up and running at 5.30 I don’t feel guilty. It’s raining here but as we put some grass seed down yesterday we’re hoping a few might survive the row of pigeons hoovering it up. I wish I had a catapult or even a cat.

message 4035: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments Pieces of string with shiny mylar or metal foil which shimmers in the breeze, hanging from sticks, are a good bird deterrent around here.

Crossing fingers for your proper recovery, Will.

That's what you get for going back to being a commuter, you know. Just take things easy!

And the greetings card industry loses out again!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Those damn pigeons are crafty. Nothing scares them. We’ve got pea sticks and cotton but they’ve gone underneath.
On the other side of the garden the cherry tree is starting to blossom. It’s a white ornamental one and very pretty but it’s only a couple of years old.

I'm afraid that if they relied on us two, they're screwed :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments On the other hand, there was a tiny spike in Get Well Soon cards....

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

Lovely dinner out with friends last night. Think we're gonna give today's brunch a miss. I've got so much suitcase food that needs cooking before it goes off, I'd better stay home and get on it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12596 comments Morning all, another disturbed night sleep, weirdly woke up at 2.30 feeling really sick. Think I'm going to ring the optician today. Admin day, then a fundraising meeting after work

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Morning. Hope you're starting to feel better Will, that must have been a horrible experience.
On holiday with my family in Seville for a few days, sun's come out so we're going for a wander after breakfast.

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning all. Not much going on today, but my little sister's visiting town tomorrow so planning to meet her for dinner.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning, I hope it clears up, I promised pony ride to grandson as a bribe for being clean and dry. It’s amazing how much pee a three year old contains. I think it’s going to be a ‘wet’ day in a few respects. I’ll sit him in a bin liner in my car 😀

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Morning! I'd have been here earlier only I discovered that the mouse we trapped yesterday had been in the kitchen drawers. Everything had to come out and be washed. I have dishwasher hands! The downside of country living. Been a bad year for them.

message 4050: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments We saw a large rodent brazenly on the patio last night. It's going to be that sort of year, I think
