Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Got back to sleep and he didn't wake me this time.

Looks like it's going to be a dry day. I hope I've not jinxed it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Morning all, dry here. Boring admin day.

Hmm, that doesn't sound fair Patti

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Woot, quarter to eleven and I've tided out the cupboard in the utility room ready to treat the attack of woodworm it seems to be suffering from. Threw a ton of shite away, which always feels good!

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments I have heating again :)

message 3559: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Glad you've got heating Claire - is the weather bad where you are?

Oh Kath, that image is in my mind.

Heading back to London tonight and home tomorrow. Hope the weather's okay at Heathrow and Gatwick.

After last meeting ends, in about an hour or so will see if I can sit in the sun for a bit before heading to the airport. (I said sun. Haven't used that word for a while.)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Glad you have heating Claire and that you've had a productive morning MT. Safe travels Kelly

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments One of my friends died very suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday afternoon. Can't take it in.
Not been a good year so far :(

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Box o wine Soave from tesco.
I don't recommend it.

Dave is feeling better. He ate dinner tonight.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments So sorry to hear that Rosemary.

I've decided to stop my antibiotics half way through the course, my toe is still painful and swollen so not worth the nausea and stomach cramps. Looks like I'll be back at the doc on Thu

message 3569: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments So sorry to hear that Rosemary. Very shocking when it is sudden.

Desley, you've had a terrible time of it. Really hope they can get it fixed.

Stuck in Athens overnight. BA put me onto an Aegean flight tomorrow so I have a chance of getting a connecting flight back to Jersey. Anyone flown with them before?

message 3570: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Aegean are alright. I've flown on worse.

Kelly Clayton | 1040 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Aegean are alright. I've flown on worse."
Thanks Patti. Initially BA tried to rebook me onto the 18.40 from Athens tomorrow night, which would have meant I'd get back to Jersey on Thursday.

Eventually they agreed to get me on the Aegean flight and I'm so grateful they did. At least I have a good chance of getting home tomorrow.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Good luck Kelly

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Our new boiler is half in. It’s very neat sontomorrow it’s the electrician and more holes in the wall for the condenser pipe. Thy might finish tomorrow nigh. We re warm though as he’s lit the log burner and a fire in the dining room. It’s so been lovely and sunny today. Desley, you be careful, that foot doesn’t sound right at all. Do you get air miles Kelly? I’m sorry for your friend Rosie, must have been nasty shock for you.

message 3574: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

I do enjoy the lack of traffic noise in our flat here. Don't realise just how bad it is in Baku until you get away from it.
Now, if Dave would just stop coughing...

I'm hoping he's fit to leave the flat today.

message 3575: by Will (new)

Will Once (willonce) | 3772 comments Sorry to hear about your friend, Rosemary. Virtual hugs.

Good morning from the early shift.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Morning all, feel a bit drained. Got a meeting at 10, covering our switch at lunch then got a One to One at 2, which I'm dreading - we are setting SMART targets this year.

message 3577: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth White | 1761 comments Morning everyone.

Hopefully the year will only get better for you, Rosemary.

I did a quick shop yesterday evening, to find that Asda have put their 6 packs of Walkers crisps up from £1 a pack to £1.65!!! A swift detour into B & M came up with the goods where they're currently still £1.

Hope this pm is positive, Desley, and your foot problem gets resolved soon. Sounds miserable.

G J (Gaff to my friends) Reilly | 1836 comments Morning all. Freezing cold in the valley, but it's bright at least. Easter holidays are fast approaching and it'll soon be time for another bunch to head out into the big, wide world of work. Let's hope it gives me some peace and quiet to do some writing, eh!

message 3579: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Morning all. Another cold start here as well, but at least it's staying dry.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Best wishes to all who need them.

Sat waiting for the garage man to collect mum's car to take it for an MOT.

I've brought some work home so once the car has gone I'll get on with that. Mum is knitting or at least thinking about it. Her hand is really bruised from the scan she had last week. The chemo on the following day also used the same hand as they couldn't find a vein in the other.

If this thread hasn't been deleted Patti might find it interesting.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Good morning, nice nd bright here. The west wind has come back so it might warm up a bit Gaff. It’s coming your way.
The amount of dust in my house is amazing, but seeing as the gas man is drilling into the walls I’m justified in just looking at it till he’s finished. I’ll only have to do it again tonight. Despite my darling’s fear we didn’t freeze overnight without heating. That man is a gold medal worrier.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments Up too early, and can't get back to sleep. Annoying when you don't have to get up.

Think I'm feeling the barometric change - we're on a winter storm watch for the 3rd? 4th? time this month - and they say we're to get 6-10". The husband marched the snowblower off to a friend's house yesterday because it was non-functional, and brought it back working. That's a relief - at 70, I don't want him moving a lot of snow by hand.

It is funny to be sitting here at 7 am our time, eating a leftover chicken sandwich and thinking about the million things that have to be done before I move to a place with no snow in the winter. Forever.

Husband brought the daffodils in - they'd just get buried. It's spring, darn it.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Well, I decided not to go to the 10am meeting, glad as it didn't finish till 11.40!! Have messed up though, pressed the wrong button on my phone and managed to subscribe to another free month of kindle unlimited, but the other day I was offered 3 months for £1.99, was going to wait till the day before the offer ended to do it, as I'm 20% the way through a book. Now don't know what to do!!

✿Claire✿ (clairelm) | 2602 comments Evening. Been on the first day of a decontamination course today. Really interesting and yet very disturbing what our species is capable of doing to each other. Learning about hazmat suits tomorrow and then a test.
Going to do some baking tonight, trying to decide exactly what I want to make!!

My younger brother got married on Dec 23rd many years ago. Was quite lovely. In a huge glass greenhouse covered with snow with candles floating in the meandering river that flowed through it.
My sisnlaw wore white velvet.

I wore a down filled coat.

That sounded fabulously romantic until we got to the down-filled coat (although it was funny!)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Good morning!

One of my good friends is in Georgia for a few days to celebrate Novrus. She's enjoying it very much, loving Tblisi, looking forward to a wine tour today, but...

The expensive boutique hotel she's staying in sounds like Faulty Towers.
She had to change rooms yesterday because of noise and bad a/c.
She's flooded the room having a shower this morning.

Puts such a damper on a hard earned holiday.

I'm looking forward to her review.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12595 comments Morning all, dry again. Back to the doc this morning, I think my toe may be slightly less swollen

That wedding sounds lovely Patti. Do hope your friends holiday improves

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments Job interview today!

Got a new suit, shirt, socks, and shoes.

I've had a proper shave, trimmed the nostril hairs, ear hairs, and a waylay eyebrow.

I feel like The Cat from Red Dwarf.
