I'm looking forward to seeing the new Tomb Raider. We are in London next weekend so might see if it's on somewhere around Leicester Square.
I am travelling tomorrow. I do not need any snow in either Jersey, at Gatwick or Heathrow. There - I have asked, and expect my wish to be granted. Please!

Doubt you'll get any in Jersey Kelly, it just showed rain on the map earlier, London may be covered by the amber warning unfortunately. I fully agree Lynne, my neighbour is a bit like that.

We've woken to a winter wonderland. The BBITW is supposed to go sea kayaking today. We're waiting for the email saying it's cancelled (hopefully).

There was so much snow that visibility was cut right down, but it was so powdery/dry and moving so fast virtually none of it landed!
So we've got the delicate icing sugar effect :-)

We made it safe n sound. Got in about 1am and fell straight into bed. Thanks gawd I'd left the bed made up.
We had to open our bags three frikkin times. Twice at Baku airport and again as we left baggage claim at Heathrow. No problem but could have done without that hassle. Also, the plane was packed with negligent parents and spoilt children.
Then driving through the snow all the way here...
Suffice it to say I'd lost my sense of humour by the time we got to Barry.
And I have no cream nor coffeemate. Argh.
And the flat is freezing. The neighbours are in Spain and couldn't put the heating on.
One bright spot. They left their wifi on.

The oil radiators are taking the worst of the chill off. Will be better once the under floor heating clicks on.
No idea if it's worth going out to ASDA or anywhere. They way you lot panic buy at the first snow flake, the shelves are probably empty.

Off work today, birthday party for the rainbows today as it's 30 years since the first groups were set up. Corralling 160 girls for lunch and a disco should be fun, although I've helped organise it, at least only 4 of them are my responsibility!!

Oh dear Lynne - I'm the opposite, I'm refusing to replace mine, but when it has a wobble, my neighbour goes 'if you'd replaced it when I said' - well, I've had over 12 months use out of it actually. Glad you made it home safely Patti, I was worried as it appeared you were hitting both amber warning areas. Sorry you have a cold flat and no provisions. Good luck finding some supplies today, I don't get panic buying personally. Mind you, I do stock up when things are on offer.

Snow here but the worst is the wind. It's blown over a huge plant in a terracotta pot. I can hardly lift it and I'm not a weakling. Mattie the chicken is still electing to stay inside except when she hears the back door open and hopes she's in for treats!
I'm knitting, reading and keeping warm. Stay safe, everyone, and may Sweatia, the Goddess of Domestic Heating Systems, beam her munificence upon you all.

Now that you're safely home, remember to leave some powdered coffee creamer (for true emergencies) behind when you go. Some say it's better than nothing.
Hope you're warm by now.

still no snow but cold in the wind!

We could have stopped for essentials at the 24 hour shop but I was too tired to think.
Managed to get a tesco delivery slot for tomorrow. Dave is a mess, full of cold and earache in both ears and I've got a sore throat and cough, so I doubt we'll be going out tomorrow.
Shit. Forget to order wine.
Off to amend my order...

You poor baby. all the stress, and now illness. I hope you can get extra rest. And it is very inconvenient of the mate to be sick at the same time.

Glad you've had fun, Lucy won't go out but keeps pestering! I have threatened to throw her out

Desley, Harrison has been sitting by the backdoor refusing to go out and bitching and complaining about the snow to anyone who will listen!

Plenty by UK standards, anyway.
Should melt tomorrow.
Dragged myself out of bed to cobble a meal together out of freezer rubble and cupboard clutter.
Actually did quite well.
Roast beef, parsnips, roast potatoes and peas. Not bad, eh?
Turns out tinned potatoes make very nice roasties. Who'da thunk it?
Dave had about four bites and pushed his plate away. After whinging all afternoon that he was hungry.

I am getting that with Babs, she sits by the door and shouts until we open it but she won't go out. She doesn't want to be a Babsicle maybe. :) Cats can be contrary creatures.

The snow on his pickup was melting and water was pooling under it as we loaded them

Still snow on the ground. Not sure about the sky. Not quite light enough yet.
Poor Dave had a rough night. Which meant I did as well, of course. He finally went to the couch about 3 so I managed to get a couple hours sleep.
He sez his ears are feeling better, anyway.

Hope you have an easy day Patti

I've unpacked the suitcases and cleaned up the kitchen ready for tesco. Might start a new book.
Should probably shower...

Despite the cold, I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in weeks and Narla spent it cuddled right up against me. Off to the post office and then housework to keep warm!

It's a beggar when the roads are clogged with commuting rabbits

Good luck with your boiler Claire.

Tesco is meant to be here between 1 and 2. The better get a shimmy on.

Tomorrow actually. Astronomical Spring starts on the vernal equinox, which is a movable feast, and this year falls on the 20th. Meterological Spring started on the 1st. :)

GO OUT!
Dan dan daaaaaaah!
I am just glorying in being on the internet at half past five of an evening. Spent the day on bastard admin but I have tomorrow and am just settling down to start some writing now so I'll get an hour in before McOther arrives home.
Cheers
MTM
