Morning. Unsettled start to the day in the valley, but it's a day of work, so I can't complain. The weekend approacheth and it looks like it could be good for glass hunting and writing, so hopefully I'll manage a bit of both.
Morning! Miserable, windy and rainy weather here. Flower arranging group meeting this aft and they're intersted in the teddy pattern. I'll print off a few and take a couple of teds too.
Dry here, but colder than a well digger's ass (Yes I was listening to Tom Waits yesterday). Just sitting on the train back home after delivery daughter's knitwear off for a fashion shoot. My life is so glam.
I just checked the forecast for Barry for the weekend.Shouldn't have.
Lovely morning out and about with the munchkins. Now it's over, I can talk about it. Couldn't mention where we were going before for security reasons.
Our unit of inquiry is explorers. Well, bit more than that but that's the gist of it.
We had a wander through the old city, looking for evidence of the Silk Road. So much history, going back to before the common era.
There's still three intact caravanserai in the old city!
The kids loved looking for evidence of camels especially.
The day has now turned completely vile. Driving rain, heavy howling winds. I've never been so happy to get inside the office.
Slept slightly better, but woke up really headachy, which then started making me feel sick while sat in a meeting, which I had to be in early for. Quite a busy day, as I’m off tomorrow.

Sounds like a magical way to spend a day :-)
I bet the children will remember that when many other things have been forgotten
That sounds wonderful Patti!!We just reaslied it is exactly 6 months til we get married!! I am so excited!!!!
Good morning all from the early shift. I've got a business breakfast in 45 minutes. This evening is the inestimable pleasure of watching the BBITW in the leading role of the school play.Congrats to Emma and Benjamim for your six month anniversaries. You aren't married to each other by any chance?

Lol!! Silly!! I am not married yet (getting married in 6 months time) and Benjamin for married 6 months ago!
Good morning all!! Am heading down under today and am very excited (hence being awake at this time when I don’t have to be!!)
Have a great day all xx
Morning all, struggled to get to sleep, so only feeling slightly better. Off to the docs soon, then some retail therapy. Really must do some housework too.
Good morning. Glad it’s friday, I’m whacked, these 5 am starts are killing me. Have a good day all stay warm.
Thank you Emma and Will!Morning all. I had to draw on strong reserves of willpower just to leave the house in the face of this weather.
Morning all. Went to see a production of J.M. Barrie's Quality Street last night. Yes, the play of the confectionary!!(actually it was the other way around - possibly one of the earliest examples of merchandising?)
Emma wrote: "Lol!! Silly!! I am not married yet (getting married in 6 months time) and Benjamin for married 6 months ago!"I'm easily confused.

There was a fair bit about Baku and the Silk Road in a book I read recently:
The Silk Roads: A New History of the World
, which I thought was a great book. I gave it 5 stars, which is something I don't do that often. Highly recommended, especially if it turns up for 99p on Amazon again.
Morning! Just been to buy more wool. After knitting a bear dressed in a bee jumper for the grandson, I decided to make him a bee jumper too. It's his second birthday next week.

Ah Kath your grandson will look great in his bee jumper.Been a nice day here today. Goodness knows what the weekend will bring.
Well, I opted to see the new doc at our practice today, really not convinced. She decided that as it is very swollen, there may be an infection, so gave me antibiotics and said if no better in a week, to go back. Suspect I'll be back next week, although will have to check what days she is doing!! I did question that fractures don't always show on x-rays, which she agreed with, but still wanted to go down the infection route. Had a mixed day at the outlet centre, got some great deals at the Body Shop Outlet, but the shop I wanted has gone and some of the others weren't great. The cat I homed last week looks like she needs to come back, poor thing. Alicia, sadly I can't ignore the housework, but I did come back with chocolate as there was a Cadbury's shop in the place we went today, nearly came back with some from Aldi too actually. It's really windy here now
A deep-set infection might explain both the pain and why you're not healing. You'll know soon - thinking outside the box sometimes gets you there. Fingers crossed. No MRI? You could have gotten in the queue for that while taking the antibiotic - and cancelled if the problem resolved. This has been going on for far too long, even if I just go by the posts here. My sympathies.
I suppose it might, just not sure how I could have got the infection! Yes, I am fed up of being in pain
Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "I suppose it might, just not sure how I could have got the infection! Yes, I am fed up of being in pain"certainly the infection idea would explain a lot

Interesting, I thought she was bonkers!
Think about how tightly packed your foot is with joints, bones, tendons and muscles. It would only take a little bit of inflammation to push something 'out of line' or to put pressure on something.
And every time you put weight on it, you're putting even more pressure on it
I know with cattle and sheep, an infection deep within the foot can cause a lot of problems ( so I'm an expert :-) )
Seriously I don't know if your doctor is right, but I think it's worth a go
And... Dave is full of cold. Perfect timing.Or it's all an act so he doesn't have to help with packing. Don't care. He's still weighing the bags. I'm not gonna do my back in.
The flat is going to be freezing. Yay.
Good morning from the early shift. It's the curse of the commuter - even on a weekend your body wakes you up just before the alarm clock. The alarm clock that you don't need on a weekend. Bugger.
On a more positive note, the BBITW was fabulous in his play last night. But I would say that, wouldn't I?
Everyone have a good weekend.
Snow. Even the fact I collected the Lotus of toboggans last week hasn't murphy's lawed it away. Poor McMini will probably have his football cancelled again. But on the up side ... Tobogganing!
Morning all, woke up with a throbbing foot and a sore eye, walked downstairs to find the light snow they forecast has arrived. Need to go to the post office, apparently I had a parcel delivered that couldn't fit through the letter box, I just don't recall ordering one, and need to go to the chemist for my prescription, so think I'll do that quite early on, in case this snow gets worse. Then I'll alternate housework with TV. When are you flying Patti? I know that feeling well Will, I always wake up earlier on a weekend.
I’m in Melrose, it’s snowing although not very enthusiastically. Off to Kelso shortly for a cheeky wee neb round the Borders Art Fair. And to try out their catering :)
It looks cold outside. I can hear something pinging on the windows and OH says he can see some snowflakes. Easterly wind as well so that settles it, I’m going in the kitchen - bread, cake & cookie baking. Sounds a glut of carbs but but they’ll be cutting the gas off next week when they change the boiler. Good timing by The Management. He has been cutting wood for the log burner so the dogs won’t be cold.
St Paddy's Day here today. Not that I am doing anything to celebrate it. We had snow forecast so I got my groceries delivered yesterday instead of monday. So if we do get snowed in I am all stocked up. We probably won't have any snow here now...
I hope you get all your Tesco delivery. Our local stores are still out of stock of some goods. No chicken. No butter, spreads and some frozen goods and that’s just what I looked for yesterday. The others like Lidl and Morrison’s have everything. . I got an order the day I came back off holiday before the snow and looking at my old order history there is at least 20 of those items marked unavailable today.
I got most things. I had to go in the evening before and change a few things that were unavailable, but I got everything I really needed. It took them a while to get back in stock of a load of things after the last snow.
Cold with a strong windWe did actually have a little snow for a quarter of an hour but the wind was so strong I don't think much of it hit the ground, it certainly didn't settle!
Morning. A few grains of snow drifting around on the breeze, but nothing's sticking. Still I'm warm this time :)Saw the new Alicia Vikander Tomb Raider reboot last night - I'm impressed! (But you start to feel old when you notice the father figure is younger than you!)
Keep me away from sharp knives today please. I asked what he’d like for lunch, suggested pie as there is pastry ready, pizza, pasta, something with chips and waited for his reply. - “A chicken thingy“ he means (chicken Penang). I said No, as the chicken breasts are frozen and I didn’t intend to rush defrosting them. You should have seen his face. I feel like a short order chef some days.
I would but my attitude to him meddling in my kitchen is the same as his when I set foot in ‘his’ garage, He can cook though if he wants to, when I had the horses and worked ful time he used to make a lovely curry. The trouble is he tends to kick its arse to death when he likes something. Curry 5 nights in a row is OTT to me. 😄
